HOW TO: 2019+ Live Valve Recalibration - FORScan

Update (Gen 3, but may apply to Gen 2). I can confirm it’s the FORScan version, not having a tune, that impacts whether VDM can load. I updated my FORScan version and lost the date there. Tried uninstalling my tune after reading this thread and no dice. Tried reverting back to FORScan 2.3.48 and bingo. VDM loads in this version even with my AccessPort installed and maps loaded.

BLUF: Calibrated and error free. I appreciate everyone's help today and would like to share all that I learned on this 8+ hour journey today. The five-minute job that went sideways.
So, after quickly completing the height calibration I was unable to zero out my front left ride height value. In fact it was reading 199 which I now believe is a maximum value. Immediately following a "successful" calibration process in FORSCAN not only did I have the erroneous value but now I had the Drive Mode Malfunction being generated in the VDM. After several attempts at reloading the VDM with "as built", running ride height calibration, resetting the VDM module, and disconnecting the battery I was left with the same error (which locks you out of all driving and steering modes) as well as the 199 in the front left. So, I decided to look at the ride height sensors themselves and found that the front left ride height sensor linkage that connects to the upper control arm had popped off the ball joint. So, when I did the initial ride height calibration it read a value that gave such a large number that it triggered the VDM to create the Drive Mode Functionality to fail. Once I found the issue, popped the linkage back on between the sensor and the UCA, I was able to successfully zero the right height then force an as built load into the VDM module and the Drive Mode error was gone. From one Veteran to another I appreciate you sharing your story here brother. Working on F-16's back on the day we had many days like this. Talk about making you want to throw some wrenches!! Your situation here is whats keeping me from doing mine as I seem to be that guy when I start messing with shit lol.

Finally ran Forscan after adding 37's and Eibach springs. These were my values before adjustment. Getting the extended license key to update was a bit of a journey but once hooked up everything went smooth. Adjusted tire size and didn't get any codes. Also did NOT need to put the truck in neutral even though that's what came up on the screen. Haven't driven it yet but hoping its more plush and shifts better! Appreciate all on this thread who added comments and feedback.

I just put Geiser springs on mine, I probably need to do this also. where did you find the steps to do it ?

I read through this thread several times and also looked at a few youtube videos. My suspension is now great but my wheel size changed messed everything up and threw a bunch of faults. I had to reset to 35's to get everything cleared.

Just curious should if it be close to zero if vehicle is non stock I have icon collars on the front and deaver +3 in the rear I have some high numbers for the rear 50’s and 3 on front

not entirely sure what mine was but it was off quite a bit as well after Deavers + Eibachs up front. Set it to 0 and could tell rebounding was better up front afterwards but you're mileage may vary.

Hello, thank you OP for this.

I had a tune and VDM didn't show. Went back to stock.

Interesting bit: On my first attempt as the instructions suggested, I created new profile in forscan when it prompted me.

Then I went to stock and fired up forscan, I made the mistake 9f loading the last profile. VDM didn't show.

Reconnected forscan but this time I created a new profile, VDM showed. I was able to recalibrate.

I just did the ride height reset with Forscan. Each tire is showing -1.00. Not getting a 0 out for them. Anyone seen this reading before? Just had collars put on with 37's today.
