I picked up my Raptor just a day before you with a 6hr roundtrip. Already been baptized by some Kansas rain on its way home to Oklahoma. I'll post up pics in one of my threads once I get a chance. Already have Line-X done and getting tint and 3M clear bra done tomorrow.
On a side note, I'm pissed today because I started installing my Bakflip F1 cover today which is supposed to be a 30 minute install at most. Then, I find that the damn rails in the box aren't even close to being the right length (measured about 67.5" which does NOT work for my 66" bed) which blocks the tailgate from closing. Gotta make some phonecalls tomorrow and get hopefully get the right parts. The box does have the correct part number listed so my guess is the box got packed incorrectly.
Maybe it isn't always about the journey so much as the destination. Sucks the Lightning got totalled, but you didn't downgrade when going to the Raptor. Just went from a badass street vehicle to a badass offroad vehicle. Congrats!
