How do you put your truck in park?

Pretty much always do this when on any sort of grade. Habit from stick shift days. Now, when it’s flat…

Either ....

1. Apply brake to come to a stop, shifting into neutral just prior to stopping.



Or add ...

2a. Take foot off brake.
2b. Apply brake if hill.



But I stand by my earlier comment. If you can't just come to a stop and put it into park without any consequence whatsoever, no matter how many times you do it, the designer should be fired.
You can stand where you want, but if you’d ever look at the diameter of a parking pawl pin, if you hate your truck’s tranny, then insist on doing it your way!

It’s a half ton truck. If I have to baby it that much, I don’t want it.

I’ll take it off your hands cheap. I don’t mind continuing with what I’ve done since I started driving. To each their own, but if they idiot proofed the entire truck, it would weigh 8,000 lbs.
