One more thing, does a kit such as the rpg, hinder the oem crumple zone at all, as a matter of safety? I know i would be strengthening the frame with the support beam, but I still would like to have the safety of the crumple zone in case i get rear ended. I am sure they took this into account during the engineering process but just wanna make sure.

I do not think there has been any real world testing.. Looking at my truck, there is still a crumble zone where the hitch attaches to the frame.

Behind RPG frame support There Is another area that will yield.

In front of the Rpg frame support is another area that will yield before cab mounts.

Best bet on that would be to call RPG up and talk to them for a straight answer.

That is great advise! If he is available talk to Corey about it.. BigJ and myself talked to him at TRR about it..

Its been awhile time for a renewal... If you have a bent frame PM me it here... Not everyones frame gets damaged going 100 MPH and catching a kicker berm.. Just for laughs... I want to do some frame inspections for any Norcal people willing to let me know if they don't mind that I look at the frame. I simply don't like the current kits although RPG kit has good points so does Outlaw and SDHQ. So I am looking for damage and want to know how and what took place. For those of you outside my visiting area pictures and what happened are appreciated. PM me I don't want things on this thread.. If I do a design it will be different than all before and should work on each model year so far... 2014 looks like the end for this generation. The whole rear frame can not be replaced for everyone as a practical application. I do know for sure no matter what's designed some dumb as s will find a way to break it... But I think those guys are only on the Z so they will never see this..lol..
PM please..

My frame was tweaked slightly when I showed up for TRR12. I had the RPG stage 3 installed (frame reinforements, bumps, leafs) and when we torqued that last bolt securing the frame kit to the old bump stop hole I could visually see the line on the truck truing back up. Since then I've banged my SCREW around a bunch pretty brutally with no movement on the rear frame.

My front frame horns and LCA mounts on the other hand...

RPG kit straightened mine right back out too and it was tweaked real good. At the time Jarrett said it was the worst he'd seen.

My frame isn't bent, and I've put her through some good hucks. Although, after TRR13, I am very sad to report that i do suffer from bed spread. I had thought it was a myth, but long and behold it is not.

The forces have to go somewhere, and with a bump kit, it absorbs and transfers the load to other places. :(

I think i might have slight bed-spread going on, because my tailgate has become pretty squeaky, but it's nothing major.
