Mike Levine, editor of PickupTrucks.com, says while the owners have responsibilities for knowing what their off-roading courses hold, Ford should have provided driving classes or some other kind of training to give Raptor owners a better sense of their vehicle's limits. "For Raptor owners trying to figure out what the capabilities are, this would be a lot better than going out in groups and finding out what the design limits are in the real world. I can't fault these guys for getting upset."

I love that he is suggesting that Ford offer driving classes to educate people on where the Raptor's limits are. I'm sure the cost of that won't be passed on directly to owners in the form of an "option".

Ford doesn't offer those classes for the GT500, why should they for the Raptor?

Bent Frame Thread-Summary

Sorry read like 10 pages of comments some educated some not so. I know I should spend hours on here reading all the comments that will eventually hopefully be stickied to the top but for now dont have that time. Can anyone summarize that thread with the factual issue and fixes so far? I refuse to spend even more time joiningand reading a z forum to figure it all out. Regards

WHERE THE FRAME BENDS?

HOW TO TELL?

WHAT YOU CAN DO ON YOUR OWN TO PREVENT IT MOD WISE (hydraulic bumps stops, Dever springs, gusset frame, plate frame...)?

HAS FORD ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE OR RELEASED AN OFFICIAL POSITION?

WHERE THE FRAME BENDS?

Bump stops at the rear axle

HOW TO TELL?

Your truck looks like an upside down V.

WHAT YOU CAN DO ON YOUR OWN TO PREVENT IT MOD WISE (hydraulic bumps stops, Dever springs, gusset frame, plate frame...)?

Slow the **** down. Know the road you are driving. Use a GPS with the course notes already on it and have a navigator who can read it.

No.

WHERE THE FRAME BENDS? Right above the bump-stop

HOW TO TELL? Your bed is out of alignment relative to the cab & your frame is bent

WHAT YOU CAN DO ON YOUR OWN TO PREVENT IT MOD WISE (hydraulic bumps stops, Dever springs, gusset frame, plate frame...)? Probably nothing, but you can try it all (it appears all the bent truck had Devers and other mods. Didn't help)

WHAT YOU CAN DO ON YOUR OWN TO PREVENT IT MOD WISE (hydraulic bumps stops, Dever springs, gusset frame, plate frame...)? Probably nothing short of a complete TT build, but remember, TT's break too (it appears all the bent truck had Devers and other consumer mods. Didn't help)

HAS FORD ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE OR RELEASED AN OFFICIAL POSITION? Not as far I can tell.

If you want to keep your truck in one piece, don't do what these guys did: Too fast on an unfamiliar trail.

The idea comes from SRT who gives a day on a Richard Petty race track with the purchase of any SRT vehicle.

Ford is offering it FREE for the Boss 302 as well. They SHOULD offer one for the Raptor imo.

Audi does this for r8 owners At a serious price tag to the owner, but still offers a driving class.
