Fuel economy—Ford wanted to insure that the Gen 2 got better MPGs than the Gen 1.

They are a lot softer for sure, My Gen 1 could go 60 thousand miles on them. My Gen 2s look like they have another 10 thousand miles in them and I am at 24 thousand miles now.

And what are some of the "great things" you've heard?
Please tell us.

Fitting 37’s is much, much easier and the ride is substantially improved over a Gen 2. I was also told that they were hitting 3 foot deep whoops without ripping the truck apart.

Is that true? I thought the E rating was an increased sidewall thickness...no change in rubber compound or lug thickness. It would make sense that they would be more puncture resistant and less likely to blowout, but does that decrease the tread wear?

I can say for sure my E load KO2s are lasting about twice as long, under identical driving / loading conditions, as the original C load range KO2s did. Why I am not sure, but it is for sure happening for my application.

I run similar inflation (36F / 33R) in these tires as the last (I think I ran 38F / 34R on the originals, I don't have my log here to check), but they seem much more puncture resistant and are lasting longer. I have already passed the mileage I got on the original tires, and the current tires are probably about 50% tread wear. The second half of tread wear seems to go faster, so I may not get quite double the life, but it will be close.

For those who actually bought the truck, did you not research it and get the low down on the specs? Some have the deer in the headlights look when they learn something about the truck they totally did not realize. But it was a common spec. I did enough that I realized it was basically a hot rod off road truck and knew all the basics at the very least about it.

Same here. No longer tow my boat, not doing construction anymore, and not hauling any heavy shit around. Been through F150's and F250's.
I'm using it for lugging my fishing equip, beach runs when surf fishing, being able to drive over most any obstacles, being able to go where no man has gone before, and putting a shit eating grin on my face when hitting the throttle.
It works for me.

They really aren't meant for towing. You want to tow, get an F150 eco or 5.0. One type of suspension can't do it all, but a tougher tire would be good for off roading. I ran KO2's on all my Jeeps except once I went with Duratracs. They sucked. Sidewalls aren't strong and they don't stand up to rocks well.
But Duratracs are way better than KO2s in snow, rain and mud.

I love raptor, owned a gen 1, fall in love with it. then in 2015 sold it to my cousin, and got ready to buy the gen2 with all my heart and appreciation.

Bottom line, stop being so sensitive. Accept if gen2 lacks in any categories. Man up and grow balls.

Man up and grow a set eh. Last I checked down "south" things were just fine thank you. Accept it if it lacks anything eh. Nothing has ever been built without "lacking" something or the other. The issues with the Raptor are not causing me to go into a complete "meltdown" and go on a Forum and tell everyone how horrible it is. Especially if I didn't own one.

Enjoy your pursuit of the GT500. Nice ride. I seriously doubt you are going to get one though. And I am happy your Laxus treats you well.

I have better things to do now. The desert is calling.
