Oh...Looks like it could be a 3-link system similar to what Shaffer's is building now. Hard to tell from the pictures for sure, but that excites me. This might be the motivation I need to upgrade the Gen1...in 2023. Not sure I want the first production year on a brand new suspension design.

I also notice there is an open grill for the IC below. Looking like a 3.5
power boost may be in there.

Ford also filed a patent for dual electric motors on each side of the engine block. Could Raptor be the first to get them?

Had to look up some details on the power boost system.

A few thoughts:

Wonder what the durability of it will be, especially if it makes it to raptor and is taken offroad. The regenerative breaking would be one of the areas where I could see some mud and sand causing some problems. Although I am sure that the system could likely be built to be durable.

The pro power onboard system looks like it could be pretty awesome!

Does the battery between the frame rails force you into a smaller fuel tank? The article I found referenced a 30.6 gallon tank.

I wonder if a part of the electric half of the hybrid system were to fail would you just have reduced power or would we be talking a limp mode situation?

There is one language these guys speak and it’s green...$80k trucks flying off of lots and you think they will cancel it for $30-60k Jeep Wrangler competitor...good job friend but try again!

If only history could teach us something about ford switching generations of trucks...if only we had some guide to go back and look at to see what ford will do with the raptor moving from a GenX to future GenX...it’s a real shame we have no way of knowing:smoke2: no guide to light our way into the future

From what I heard and read, the combined hybrid system yields like something up to 700 miles of range. So shrinking the tank down to 30.6 from the larger 36 gallon tank still provides more range. I don't think you can easily contaminate the regen braking aspect of things, as this is normally generated by the electric motor when not receiving power, but making it's own as you take your foot off the accelerator. So the motor should be a sealed component.

I contacted my dealer yesterday in regards to ordering a 2021 and the GM stated there would not be a 2021 model year. Any information on a 2022 MY would be just speculation.

Hopefully it will be back in 22/23 model year.

My dealer said the same thing. But he also said that the Raptor is such a cash cow for ford corporate that they have a lot of incentive to get it out sooner than later.
