I think you hit on an important point here. It's good to influence them and let them know who you are what you like, not just about discipline and right and wrong. At the same time, you want them to understand that they don't need be a carbon copy of you in order to gain your approval. The goal of influencing them to is to show that they can be their own individual.
Amen Brother. I also have a daughter in college, and did just that. Helping make her, her own person whom she can be proud of

Nah. It’s good for them. My dad once bought me a replica of a 68’ Camaro that he once owned. It made me appreciate the clean styling and timeless design of that car. I still get excited any time I see one even though I’m not a big Camaro guy.

Spend time with your kids, they’ll appreciate it later on in life.

Your not alone in this...I have all them plus a few others...good to start them early.
