Don’t know much about the RC world... what’s wrong with traxxas?

also who would you prefer then?

My local hobby shops have a bunch of goofballs and questionable clientele. Traxxas gets talked down often by long time hobbyist. Truth is though, they generally make it the easiest to get into the sport. Their recent offerings have received some much needed updates. I would venture to say that over the years, the t-Max, slash, and x-max have introduced more newcomers to the market than all other companies offerings combined.

I’m not dedicated to them, but my first RC was a T-max 2.5. I did chores all summer when I was 14 and could afford, and therefore decided on, a rustler. My dad knew I wanted the better truck and surprised me the day of purchase by matching my earned money. That was 20 years ago and it still runs.

What batteries are you running?

A venom lipo battery 5000-35C. If I run it wide open at 100% power the tires donut out and rub the body.

Yes I prefer Traxxas over other RC companies. I’ve had very good luck with their products over the last 15 years.

These are all cool. And they’re your son’s. I’m only 42 and don’t even play video games. I do like toys you can ride though.

How are you liking this so far? What batteries do you run? I'm debating on picking up the same one.

I’ve run a 5000mah 2S but have run the 3S which is absolutely nuts and like was said makes the tires get narrow and rub the body. I like how the battery goes in without having to take the body off. The LED lights are so cool too!
