yeah, I hear you. I am going on a raptor run that is quite a ways from home. My AAA premier will tow up to 250 miles. Guess it wouldn't hurt how much more I can pay for the difference if the worse case scenario happens.

We had AAA but it was pretty much useless.

You never plan on anything happening, but as in our case, accidents do happen. I didn't think it was that bad...no one got hurt and air bags didn't deploy. But finding a reputable shop seems to be another issue(s).

I would not be at all happy with this work. You might be forced to fight it through the insurance since they paid it already. Good luck.

I had a claim with AAA for my Raptor. They were the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. If your insurance is with them I hope you get better people to deal with.

You're the first I've heard that's had issues with AAA. I had them tow a car from north of Houston all the way to Baton Rouge for less than $200 bucks since 250 miles were covered under the plan I had.

I hope you get your truck fixed; I'd be pissed if that's the work they did on mine!

Man Carl, that truly sucks! Sorry to hear about the trouble with getting it fixed. That bumper shouldn't have been reused IMHO, it took a nasty hit and I can't see even a reputable shop being able to get everything right on it. They should have replaced the bumper and all mounting brackets, etc. I would check out the invoice/receipt and see what they charged for. I had one get hit on the highway by a dipstick and the shop got paid for replacing everything and tried to reuse the old parts, I went through the insurance company to get it done right and they wound up paying big time for their deception. That being said, good luck getting it taken care of!

Side note, I got to meet and talk with Carl at SnoBall and I second the sentiment that he is one I wouldn't want pissed at me...lol

I was an auto adjuster for several years and agree that the job is extremely sub-par. Most bumpers don't come in painted and time is given to the paint department so that they can tint the paint to match. You'll never get the exact color and quality of the robot that sprayed the truck at the factory, but you do have some things going in your favor. More than likely the frame horns were bent and they just didn't bother requesting a supplement from the insurance carrier for frame pull time, but it could be as simple as adjusting the bumper on the brackets. The bumper doesn't actually touch any other panel on the truck (like it would on a car), so they shouldn't have to fade/blend the paint to make it look right. All vehicles that are less than 12 months old and/or have less than 12k miles should have new OEM parts. An LKQ (like kind and quality) bumper from another blue flame truck would be easier, but these trucks are still relatively rare - you should have applied the price of the replacement bumper to an ADD anyway :).

Alignment is notoriously difficult on these trucks (and by difficult, I mean you need to have the intelligence of a lesser ape as opposed to a small insect to make sure the steering wheel is straight when the wheels are aligned. It looks like they were lazy, didn't care about the paint and didn't mind the panel gaps. If your insurance company recommended them, then that *usually* means they have a contract with them as a preferred body shop and they typically have much more pull with that shop (especially since they recommended them in the first place). Don't let them close the claim until the repairs are done correctly. If you have the truck now, you should be able to take the truck to another preferred shop in your area for the supplemental repairs.

Hope this helps.
