Hit and Run Accident Today

That is not what my experience tells me. I have always had to pay the deductible on hit and runs.

Talked with State Farm this am. Reconfirmed that I am responsible for deductibles on hit and run accidents. They do not hit my rating risk or hit any good / safe driver discounts.

yep. a non at fault accident is covered and does not affect your driving record, but you are responsible for the deductible. same with my truck i have a $750 deductible.

I had a good shop check the truck thoroughly and it looks like it's just the tire, cosmetics on the wheel and trim ring and fender flare.

You have to love Ford's parts pricing. One cosmetic trim ring from Ford Parts is $810 and some change. A set of 4 true bead lock rings from Ford Racing is $796. A wheel with cosmetic trim ring from Ford Racing is $699.

The flare is also a deal at $410 for one

I am having the wheel and ring refurbished for $100, replacing the trim ring, and getting an alignment. Total is well under the $1000 deductible. I'll use the spare rim as my main and put the refurbished one as the spare.

The place is T &S Body Works in Tempe. I haven't had the work done yet. I measured everything I could find and it's all symmetrical. T & S put it on a lift and checked and all looks good. They have a laser frame system but that's a $150 charge to check.

I need to put my new RPG front coil overs on and that requires an alignment after. The guy at T&S said the frame test would tell me if the frame was bent if the alignment shows the rear is shifted then we would learn the same thing. I plan to have them do the alignment and then if they find the issue I'll go the insurance claim route.

Nissan Versa. Horrible car. Only rentals and people that have no feel for driving or what they drive (ugly and not awesome gas mileage).

Glad your daughter is ok. Jetta would have been far worse if it threw the truck into a 90* turn.

In CA, if we don't have a plate its hard to find the other party. Too many cars that are similar.
