2017 Scab. Build date 2/2017. 56,400 miles.

1. Roll pin recall 12/2017
2. New transmission oil pan seal 12/2017
3. New oil pan for leaking 12/2017
4. Leak between transmission and transfer case with seal replacements 1/2018
5. New transmission 2/2018 (on the lift ~6 weeks waiting on approval)
6. New oil pan for leaking 5/2018
7. Frozen door latches 1/2019
8. IWE x 1 4/2019
9. IWE x 2 9/2019
10. IWE x 3 + hub assemblies 11/2019
11. Resealed timing chain cover due to leak 1/2020

Knock on wood, the only ongoing issue at this point is the door actuator that won't unlock/look whenever it's wet out. I sprayed water resistant silicone around the button and that appears to have helped.

I love the truck and drive it as such (on and off-road). I'm not sure what I'd buy if this one becomes cost prohibitive. I paid cash upfront and would love to get 5 - 7 years out of it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I have worked out the majority of issues as I move beyond 60,000 miles. I run the Livernois tune and sp42 sparkplugs.

what happened to the tranny?

Supposedly the housing was cracked where the transfer case bolted up, but I called BS as it was perfect until the "roll pin" recall. I think the tech neglected to re-install/replace the transmission dowel pins, which caused the entire transmission/T-case to flex and cause damage. First blamed on bad transmission pan, followed by bad transfer case seal, followed by "cracked" housing. I never seen it in person to verify.

Nevertheless, the 1st transmissions shifting patterns 3-4-5 were so harsh was happy to see it replaced. The 2nd transmission has been much smoother.

thanks, reason I ask - not to make light of your issues - but alot of them are indicative of first model year redesign growing pans, but the tranny is a big ticket item & cause for concern. Sounds like it could have been due to some error on previous work done.

Bump for updates. 39,300 now.

......

1.5 years of ownership and I still love the truck. Normally, I start getting antsy at about a year and have something new at 2-3 years. Nothing of the sort this go around.

I guess by your join date, we bought around the same time. October of 2018. I just turned 25,*** miles and was thinking i drove too much. Your 38k makes me feel better.

I sold my 17 2 months ago and it had 86k on the clock. The only issue was a gremlin in the sunroof that had to be repaired 2 or 3 times.

I sold it to reduce my vehicles a bit figuring I didn't need the Raptor. Turns out I was wrong and I'm currently working on getting another Raptor.
