I know there are hundreds of thousands of Eco-boost engines out there that are doing well. That is not my point. My point is putting that engine in a heavy package like the Ford Raptor is not a good idea. The problems are coming from the trucks that are beat on and pushed to the limits.Anecdotal numbers are meaningless; there are millions of EcoBoost trucks on the road that have racked up hundreds of thousands of miles with no major work.
I suppose we could get into the countless 6.2 seized lash adjusters and broken valve springs before 150k miles, but once again that’s a small percentage of the entire population.
The 6.2 does have some of its own issues, we know that. The 6.2 can tolerate ALOT more abuse than the boosted V-6.
