Anecdotal numbers are meaningless; there are millions of EcoBoost trucks on the road that have racked up hundreds of thousands of miles with no major work.

I suppose we could get into the countless 6.2 seized lash adjusters and broken valve springs before 150k miles, but once again that’s a small percentage of the entire population.
I know there are hundreds of thousands of Eco-boost engines out there that are doing well. That is not my point. My point is putting that engine in a heavy package like the Ford Raptor is not a good idea. The problems are coming from the trucks that are beat on and pushed to the limits.

The 6.2 does have some of its own issues, we know that. The 6.2 can tolerate ALOT more abuse than the boosted V-6.

If the EcoBoost could not survive being pushed to its limits, we’d be seeing blown head gaskets, connecting rods through blocks, damaged pistons, broken cranks, etc. None of those are even remotely common, even on tuned trucks producing 500+ HP.

If you’re referring to maintenance, any engine will fail if it’s not maintained; that’s unrelated to size or cylinder count. Will a naturally aspirated engine tolerate more negligent maintenance than a turbocharged /supercharged one? Typically, but it makes no sense to choose an underperforming and less efficient engine for an application just because it may survive longer if neglected. There will always be people who don’t take care of their vehicles regardless of engine or vehicle type, that’s why I always reinforce how important maintenance records are when buying anything used.

You're beyond the point of being ridiculous. Stay out of the Gen 1 forums if you hate the trucks and their owners so much. Your opinion is noted and disregarded.

I don't care what you like and you shouldn't care what I like. I have my particular preferences the same as you.

I like big V8s and have always driven the biggest engine offered in whatever model I owned at the time. I wasn't even saying anything about neglected engines lasting longer. I take care of my vehicles to the point of OCD.

I'm only saying it's my OPINION that putting a boosted V6 in a heavy package like the Raptor is not a good idea.

Your whole identity is wrapped up in putting down Gen 1 owners and their trucks. Stop it and get a life.

Triggered much? What did I say that is “ridiculous”? You’re not being rational.

Your opinion is irrelevant when you don’t understand the subject matter of which you’re making claims. The 3.5 GTDI has proven extremely successful in the Gen 2 and 3 Raptor in performance and durability. The exact opposite of what you’re baselessly claiming.

Nah. You’re just trying to reinforce your insecurities by making unfounded claims to put down the newer models. That’s called ignorance.

Call it what you will ignorance or whatever. I don't really care. Your personal attacks are getting old and reek of childish desperation. Other members are completely fed up with you.

How about you back the eff off and let other members have their opinions and respect those opinions for what they are, OPINIONS.

If the Gen 1 owners and trucks trigger you so much, then stay out of the Gen 1forum before you run off other members.

This is a technical forum where Raptor owners can come to share ideas and help each other. We don't come here to get ridiculed because you think we own crappy vehicles.

If you have something of value to bring to the forum, then I'd be willing to listen. As far as I've seen from your posts, you bring no overall value to the Gen 1 forum. You insult everyone with a different opinion. It's beyond disgusting.

We get it, you think the Gen 2 and Gen 3 Raptors are the greatest trucks to ever be built. I respect your right to express your opinions. I didn't care what your personal opinions were until you started in on the attacks.

FTO's response was perfectly logical for someone on either side of the G1 vs. G2 debate. I don't know why that triggered you. From a fellow 6.2L owner, let's stop trying to find any excuse to argue about this vs. that. It's exhausting to read every thread that goes down this rabbit hole.

We all have different opinions and we should all be treated with respect. Being called ignorant is blatantly disrespectful. I don't care who he is, it's way out of line.

Go back and read my responses. Where did I ever personally attack you? I didn’t, I only stated that making unfounded claims is ignorant. And that was only after your post where you were triggered and went off the rails.

You’re trying to disguise your inherent bias and baseless claims under the pretense of an “opinion”. Opinions aren’t valid when they conflict with the facts.

I only responded to your unfounded statement. I didn’t “ridicule” anyone or call anyone’s vehicle “crappy”.

Who appointed you to police FRF members in every forum here? You most certainly have called members disrespectful names and made smart @ss remarks about their Raptors if they happen to like their Gen 1's. You can be very helpful but at what cost to the rest of us to hear your constant ranting and name calling.
