There are so many cars sold like that though. Toyota, several Lexus, Mercedes, Infiniti, all had hid bulbs in reflectors. From the factory

That's true for early adopters of HID technology and many folks (including some cops) assume if it's in a high-end car, it must be legal. But it was those early attempts to put the HID lamps in reflectors designed for halogen bulbs and the resulting complaints from drivers meeting them head-on that led to DOT review of the issue.

Lifting your vehicle, tinting your windows, blacking out taillights, modifying your exhaust, wheels extending past fender wells, etc......
I'm sure in any state, you will find something illegal on your vehicle. Finding a PO who is going to enforce it is the only issue.
I am not trying to sell you anything, so no agenda here, but do what works for you or you are willing to take a risk with. My HID kit works great & has a very good cutoff for oncoming drivers. Legal? Maybe not, but it works well & I like it.

Ok, lol, so 2 cars did it 10 years ago and thats a dealer option, didnt come from the factory like that.

Show me a recent vehicle that has HID bulbs in halogen reflectors. You cant because they dont exist.

You might as well just put a huge wing on the back and get it over with...

Well, I can't figure out how to install my hid's. I've got everything wired up but when i turn my lights on nothing happens. I don't think my ground is good... But won't the lights still come on even if I have a bad ground? How do I find a good ground?
