Is there any delay when you go to high beam, as the ballast and bulbs warm up, or whatever they do.
Just wonder is all. This is something I really want to do to my truck, the stock headlites are very weak. I considered just changing bulbs, to a better bulb, this looks like it might be much better.

No delay, no warm up time and the high beams click on just like they did when they were stock.

Halogens are pretty limited unless you can find much higher wattage bulbs. Then you risk melting housings etc. With the HIDs you will lose flash to pass (headlights off to Brights on) but there is no delay going from high to low since the bulb stays lit and just moves rearward in the housing.

What HIDs are you using that you don't have startup and warm-up time? The DDM slimline ballasts have to warm up so flash to pass is useless.

flash to pass is useless.

Well, not exactly... The way these systems work, there is only one bulb. It just moves from the position of the low beam to the high beam. The start up time is only in effect when the lights are off. I would not use flash to pass at all when the lights are in the off position. It will greatly reduce the life of the bulbs and I would assume the ballasts too.

Right i was referring to when the headlights are off. Should have specified.

Nice. I'll have to try them sometime. I'm kinda pissed at DDM anyways. I'm surprised your Raptor doesn't take the H13/9008 bulb. Did you change your headlights or did ford change the bulb at some point?

I'm a noob to this HID stuff, so I dont know what that first part means?? In reference to your question, no, the headlights were bone stock before the HID conversion. I have no idea if Ford changed headlights on Raptors since inception, but i doubt it.

Considering my full mod list by $$, this is probably the best bang for the buck. :peace:

Crazy. My 2012 SCREW takes the H13/9008. According to the Slyvania bulb guide the 2011 does too. Is your kit the high/low or do you only have low beams? I suppose its possible the 9005 is the same as the 9008/H13 but without the 2nd high beam element.

DDM tuning is a popular HID company They have gone to crap in the last year or so. They used to have quality products. From what I can tell now, they are just distributing the same cheap Chinese crap you can get off ebay.
