My I suggest an alternative? Leave the truck at the dealership and drive home in a rental car. The truck is under warranty, so leave it at the dealership for warranty repair.

We were going to do that but they would charge me minimum $800 to have it towed back to El Paso after the repair and parts are not available for the fix until mid July. Earnhardt Ford said sorry but they aren't the dealer so they arent going to take on the problem.

I didnt find the TSB or service advisory on the national listing site either but my service advisor at earnhardt told me they read it themselves.

I'm not surprised that they'd charge you for transportation. Retrieving your vehicle is your responsibility.

But Ford has a legal obligation to honor the provisions of the warranty. The dealer that sold you the vehicle is simply a licensed agent of the Ford Motor Company, just like any other - including the one that has washed its hands of you. At the very least a formal complaint is in order.

Of course, that does not solve your problem. Have you been able to speak to the Regional Service Manager. Those guys have a lot of authority and can direct a reluctant dealership to act.

3437 - 2011 f-150, expedition, navigator, 2012 mustang equipped with 6r80 automatic transmission - fluid leak from bellhousing - built between 4/15/11 and 6/6/2011
some 2011 f-150, expedition/navigator and 2012 mustang with the 6r80 automatic transmission built between april 15, 2011 and june 6, 2011 may exhibit a transmission fluid leak from the bellhousing area. This may occur at low miles or during pre-delivery road test. If this concern is present, replace the transmission pump assembly part number bl3z-7a103-a, o-ring al3z-7a248-a and bolts 6l2z-7n134-ba following the online version of the workshop manual (wsm) procedures in section 307-01 of the appropriate wsm and service labor times standards for repairs.

So, I did an early oil change today and I noticed cherry red fluid where the transmission connects to the driveshaft. I though it was grease at first, but I touched it and it was definitely fluid. Not enough to drip or be seen without being underneath the truck. Is this normal or is this a sign that my truck is affected by what's described in the recent TSB? Didn't see any signs of fluid anywhere else.

Yup that is same problem. check your build date. Mine may have been leaking before trip and didn't notice till trip. It got significantly worse with the prolonged driving and heat.

Mine is within the build dates listed on the TSB posted above. My build date is in my sig. Damn. Heading to the dealership today after work. They can assess and then order parts if need be.

BTW, I noticed the leak at 1769.7 miles.

Can someone post a printout of the actual TSB? I can't find it online at this time.
