Ok, just looked at the workshop manual. The 11 does have the same service dipstick as the 10 and previous years. It not under the hood or easiest to get to. Its on the side of the trans case. The owners manual probably doesn't mention it because A) your average person probably couldn't find it with pictures anyways B) it must be checked when the trans fluid temp is verified to be 195-215*F via scan tool. I will snap a picture of mine when I get home.

Here's a thought- Ask the service manager what happens when all the fluid is gone? Ya think it's going to happen somewhere nice & green & cool? (like there are a lot of places like that 'tween Phoenix & El Paso) Would he want his family sitting along side the road waiting for some tow goon to show up? Then, who pays for the tow? Yeah Ford will, but unless you have "Ford's" credit card, I bet your gonna be on the hook for that & then you get to wait to get your money back.
I would also not be so calm about the fire issue, ATF will burn given the right conditons. (I had a rental motorhome from my fleet go up because of a trans leak).
Ford needs to step and handle this right.....

Towards the front of the right/passanger side of the truck/transmission, you will find a hexagon cap that houses the dipstick. The cap must be unscrewed to access the dipstick. The dipstick stays in place between the cap and a flange on the housing. The dipstick itself is bright yellow plastic and only a few inches long but has cross hatch (fluid level markings) like your typical standard dipstick. The trans fluid must be hot and engine running to check the fluid. If you check it without the engine running, chances are fluid will spill out of the hole. This hole is also where fluid is added.

Thanks for all the replies guys! Keep any thoughts coming. Left it at dealership today and just enjoyed my vacation lol. Called the service manager later and asked him if he talked to ford about the fire concern. He said he def agrees with me he wouldn't take his family back in it. He said keep my rental as long as i want this week. He gave me the ford 1-800# and an RO number and advised me to call them and tell them the situation. Advised me to complain and he would back me up. He drove it to a wash and cruised it around a bit and It didn't leak while he had it. It doesn't leak when its babied and on short drives. Seems to be really increased with prolonged highway driving. The friend I am with just sold his FORD dealership in El Paso. His connection said sometimes they come too full from the factory and when heated up like that the first time they dump the overflow. It only has 1800 miles on it and that is the first long drive it has seen. Could have built up leakage over the 5 hours prior. He said to drive it this week around phoenix and see what it does. If it continues to leak make em tow it. Going to call FORD in the am and maybe also pick it up and drive it around in 112 heat.

Thank you, Pirate Air. I'd have never found that thing without your diligence and photos to help.

No problem
Thats just retarded........

It is, its a real pain in the ass to check with the cat inches away burning at full tilt. Only advantage I see is there's no dipstick tube in the way when trying to install headers.

So Ford regional rep called me and left a message, she had 2 options. I called her back 4 times or more and left messages she never called back again. Even tried calling other extensions. NO luck or help. Maybe I'm just spoiled having driven other vehicles without a hitch. First Ford I bought besides company cars and the company cars were all pieces of crap. Sorry guys. So basically screwed by Ford now and have to drive the truck back like this and pray the tranny makes it or doesn't catch fire. If it does, at least I documented everything. Just hope it doesn't break down or give out in a desolate area. You spend the money on a $55K truck you would hope it wouldn't have these problems or they would at least help you out.

My I suggest an alternative? Leave the truck at the dealership and drive home in a rental car. The truck is under warranty, so leave it at the dealership for warranty repair.
