Anyone else had this problem? Went on vacation with the family to Phoenix and by Tucson noticed a cloud of white smoke coming out from behind the raptor. My buddy got behind me and his windshield got oil on it coming from my truck. Looked under and the undercarriage and exhaust was coated in tranny fluid. So we got it to a Ford dealership here in Phoenix. They said its a known TSB build problem casing a tranny fluid leak and that they wont have a fix until at least mid july.....They want me to just drive it back to El Paso!!! Can it catch fire? Anyone else have this issue or know of something we can do?

Took it to Earnhardt Ford and talked to Eric Buttrey in service. Great guy gave me a rental and got it checked. But seriously its 112 degrees here and they want me to drive it back 6 hours, with my family inside, coating the underside in tranny oil? If you hear of a ford catching fire on I-10 with four people inside please call my attorney, lol

I would never tell anyone to keep driving with trans fluid spewing out all over the place. I haven't heard of this TSB.

I've seen the front seals leak before on the 6r80's but I thought Ford had it cleared up by the time they were put into Raptors. I wouldn't worry about a fire, takes a lot of heat before atf starts on fire. But, If the dealer told you that, I would drive that sob till the trans completely shit the bed so I could get a brand new complete assembly. That's ridiculous, specially on a transmission with dipstick damn near impossible to get to on the side of the road.

What dipstick? The owner's manual for the 2011's says there isn't one.

Can't say for 100%, but it should be on the side of the case like the 10's. Its kinda a bitch to get to. I'll see if I can get a picture.

Yes sir, seriously. Page 403 of the 2011 F150 Owner's Manual says, "The automatic transmission does not have a transmission fluid dipstick." It says that the transmission does not comsume fluid, but that if the transmission slips or is not working properly the fluid should be checked by an authorized dealer.
