The lower parts of the shock look normal. You are on lower perch. Yes there is an alignment spacer on top of the shock and on top of the shock mount. Just went out and looked at mine and yes it looks as if you have a 1 1/2" - 2" spacer between the top of the shock and its mount.

The height of the spacer is similar to going to top perch on the shocks. Like Pat said above, check your CV 's for any excess wear.

If you want to change the height, its an easy fix.

I believe there is supposed to be one spacer (my stock takeoffs had one just like yours) are you saying that there are two? In the photo it looks like there are two stacked atop one another.

There are a total of two spacers in the top shock mount. One goes between the top hat and the frame mount and the other goes on top of the frame mount to keep the clamping force even across the top frame mount because the shocks on our Raptors are at a different angle than a regular F150. And if you notice, the spacers are wedged shape to achieve this.

Good - because this early in the morning looking at all those sideways pictures made me feel like I had a bad hangover!!!!!

Glad your problem is nothing serious.

After looking at the other thread (and remembering the deinstall) I believe one spacer goes on top of the bucket (which doesn't affect ride height). But if someone moved it under the bucket or added an additional one under there that would be strange/non-standard.

Yes there is TWO on each one. Those pictures are of each shock. I found in the garage sale section a great picture of someone else's and its clear that both have two.

Spacers are not a detriment and you can have them. Nay sayers for the most part do not know if anything happens. The problem is not as extreme as some would like and will act as if you have cancer in your truck. I have had spacers since 100 miles and no detrimental effect. I have stated that I will check mine as time goes and watch to see if anything happens. I see people on this forum with CV joint issues on mid perch, more often than anyone with a spacer. The biggest complaint with spacers would be did you get the cheap ones at the outset. This is something you check since the spacers themselves have been known to fail. (the cheap ones). If you should choose to remove them you will need to buy the top mount for the shock assembly since the bolts will be to short. They are not expensive and can be had at your local ford dealer. One person on here I know of did a write up and showed what happens with cheap spacers. Bad things can happen and you run the risk of having to replace the axles either on mid perch or with spacers. Front axle issues are a part of life on these trucks if you off road enough and put it in 4 wheel drive on hard pavement. Don't lock the front on hard pavement and your fine. See articles on broken IWE, broken axles, problems with front end not locking or unlocking.. Do not panic your truck is not going to explode..

Okay guys thanks for all the good info. So it would make sense to me that the slanted spacers are still in there or otherwise the angles would be all jacked up. So the upper strut mount, the studs have been hacked off. That would be this part correct? This is likely all I need to be stock again? Thoughts?

You cant replace the studs. They are part of the top cap. I just bought a pair from a dealer and paid $95 for them. Once you get those on, you'll be back to stock.
