HELP!!! Is the NAVIGATION really worth $2,500?

Is it possible to get a Nav unit after the fact? They were not available when I bought May but after seeing all the features I would like to add one. I did get the luxury package which from what I understand is a prerequisite.

Not quite Humvee21. I bought mine last year and it had the Sony premium sound with CD changer. I negotiated for the NAV as part of the sale and the dealer had it installed a couple months later. After 3 tries, they got it installed and working, and 6 months later, with a trip to a specialty auto electronics shop, they got the rear camera to work in the NAV screen.
However, my NAV is not the Raptor stock one - its the same one from a lincoln or ****** from what I can tell.

If you do go this route - make sure the dealer sets things up properly with Sirrius if you want the features associated with satellite. My dealer is still negotiating with them about the trade and serial numbers and I haven`t had working satellite radio since last November.

However, I was addressing the question based on the assumption that the navigation system in question was the stock one. In my opinion, having that navigation system installed after the fact would cost more than the $2,500 they would charge you if it were installed at the factory considering labor cost and parts cost.

Lol hell yeah! I bet my dealer has about 80 hours into it as the camera is not "plug n play".
And I agree - $2500 (3200 in Canada) is worth it and (Back on topic) I am glad I got it.

$2500 ? Chump change. I would have forked it over if it wasn't for Tsunami but I really feel sorry for those people affected so did not make a big deal out of it. I just cannot seem to locate a stock one anywhere so it must be a have to go through the dealer type deal.

Is the Nav in the Raptor the same as in any F150? If so they cannot be that hard to find right?

Late to the party but, yes, IMHO the NAV system is worth it. Never having used a GPS in my vehicles before, I'll have to agree with an earlier post......not sure how (or why) I lived without one in the past. There's more convenience to it than just a GPS, too. Yes, maybe 2500 is a little pricey, but the look is clean and so far it functions very well for me (and I'm sure I've only used about 1/4 of it's features!)

Ha Ha, yeah Ernie - just a little late - I picked up my 2011 Molten Orange Raptor Yesterday in Vegas and YES - I got the NAVIGATION and I'm so glad I did. It calls from my address book of my new I phone and plays all the music and even texts with all voice commands. The maps are great, breadcum feature I will for sure use and more...

Now it's time to get busy adding mods and custom painted stripes to make it mine and just a bit different from others... Keep you all posted...
