the best way I can describe the Raptor's suspension is to say that the small bumps feel larger than the big bumps. this is probably due in part because of the way the Fox Shox are valved and also because the rear leafs(on any truck) are harsh on small bumps. But when you see one of those big orange signs on the highway that says "BUMP" you can sail right over it like it's nothing. what would rattle your teeth loose in most trucks will feel like a fishing boat sailing over a wave.

To add on Birds post, when you see a big bump coming, floor it! All the cars next to you will freak out and you wont feel a damn thing in the cab

Thanks for the warm welcome!!
Sorry i didnt responded yesterday! I had a trainings day at work from 9 in the morning till 9 at night. So i got home had some dinner and went to bed! It was exhausting.

But i'm about to order the raptor. Since you guys convinced me! And the so sweet video;s on youtube:p that the ride is a bit harser ( but hey that doenst have to be bad a sportscar is also harser than the avalanche)

any downside you guys can come up with?

I know the raptor is a bit ( lot) widder than the avalanche. But i dont even fit in 1 parking place now so that extra doenst matter. The parking garages here in europa are most likley 1,95m zo the avalanche wouldnt fit any way.

Can some one bring up any realy downside i haven tought of? Then i will shoot the dealer an e-mail that'he can go order my raptor!!!

Gas mileage. Im sure it wont be easy on ($250 USD each) tires, mine are already getting torn up (off roading @ 80mph doesnt help though...:) really its a great vehicle. If the ride gets firm, speed up. Seriously, that will smooth it out. A few guys have had problems with thier moonroofs leaking.

Gasmileage isnt that of a concern since the truck is going to be converted to LPG. Gas is roughly 1,50 € per liter. And LPG costs about 0,60€ and i can get the same mileage on both and the LPG is 100 - 106 octane.

But i just contacted the dealer and made this deal. He is going to ask a costumer if I can see his Raptor in real life ( i have only seen the vid's and pics) And when i like it then i will order it definatly! But things have to go realy crazy if i dont order one! So i might be onboard the Raptor Trucks Boat ;)

Oh and it will be a Blue Flame Raptor without the decals. But with nav, moonroof ( so ill watch for leaks) and luxery packes there are 2 i belief. So fully loaded! I love the looks so much! But i hope it doenst look to plastic since i heard the whole front end inculding the hood are plastic.

Thnx for all the advices!

I saw a Raptor for the first time on Saturday in Conn.. It was a customer's car in for service (Molten Orange.) There aren't many in the Northeast. When I saw this one the paint job with mud graphics is breathtaking. Pictures are just not the same. The Fox shocks stand out when standing 10 feet away - makes it look like the rugged truck it is.

I have had many types of cars. The last one I had was a Volvo S40. Great car drove like a BMW. Had a moonroof, which is great, until it starts to leak. I am not a fan of moonroofs unless you have a garage to store it in to reduce the amount of times it gets hit with rain. Personally when I get my Raptor I want to forgo the Moonroof. I read somewhere that 70% of Raptors produced have moonroofs.

Good Luck! Post pics when you get it.

Hey Tim, welcome! I must say I am a big fan of the Netherlands..... Amsterdam treated me quite well when I was over there..... From what I can remember anyway! ;)

Let us know how it shakes out, I'm sure once you see that Raptor in person you'll be headed straight over to the Red Light District for some relief!

I don't think "plastic" at all when I look at a Raptor. The Avalanche looks way more "plastic" imo.

There is nothing cheap about the composite front end, and the high quality paint covers it up - you only know when you tap on it. Its there because its cheaper to replace, and it keeps weight down on the front of the truck. The Chevy has way more plastic in it I assure you
