Fantastic! I wish I had the cash laying around that would cover a skid plate set.

But I'd much prefer doing them in all steel. On these trucks at their weight, going with steel skidplates instead of aluminum seems to be a much better solution IMO.

Yeah i thought the same thing until i figured out i could buy a few sheets of this stuff and cut up my own "slider mats" and bolt them to the AL and slide WAY WAY better then steel. (plus i can just cut another cheap chunk of sheet when ever i need to)

UHMW Sheet | UHMW-PE, Natural, .187in X 48in X 120in Sheet | Plastics International

(but in black, and i can even do varying thicknesses if i want)

Its what we would do on our rally car, we actually ended up ditching the aluminum skids for sheets of this stuff with a bit of backing behind it for long "stretches".

How do you bolt it to the aluminum? (ie- drill a hole & use a large washer?)

Wilson, I'm pretty sure I was called a bean head by my dad as a kid a few times.

How much clearance do you have between the bottom of your Trans pan and the new skid plate?

Been looking at adding these skid plates but also planning to add the Performance Automatic deep Al trans pan and I'm not sure both will fit.

Thx

I haven't installed that one yet, I'll get you a measurement.
