If you remote start the truck and it's cold out (I don't remember what temperature the truck thinks "cold" is), the driver's seat heater and steering wheel heater automatically turn on. From what I've read, there's no way to adjust that.

I've noticed they do come on but they seem to do it in "limp mode" for lack of a better term. The seat usually doesn't seem like the heater was actually on before hitting the start button, and the wheel will be warmer than the air but not as warm as it gets when fully on. Wish both would activate fully when remote starting in the cold.

I do experience the variability you describe. I think it heats up particularly hot, then dips down to a maintenance temp. I think at some interval it might heat back up again though, as it does seem a bit up and down sometimes.
This is how mine seems to work as well, although it doesn't exactly get burning hot or anything.

IIRC, there is a Forscan mod to put the heated steering wheel control on the main display (along with the heated/cooled seats), which I did and which makes it easier to turn on/off.

Mine gets pretty warm but not the too hot to touch that people are describing. I just wish Ford put a physical button somewhere for the heated wheel. I'm always on the nav screen and it's annoying having to go into climate to turn it on.

isn't yours right on the main screen?? Mine is. I don't have to go into the climate section.

Did you use Forscan to put yours there? Mine wasn't there before I used Forscan to modify the screen and add it as well as the seat heat/cool buttons to the main screen.

Agree, my heated steering wheel control is on the main "home" screen. If in NAV, all you need to do is hit one button, the home icon and the control is there - and the map is still showing. Adjust control. Then touch map again for full screen NAV. I thought I had put the control onto the home screen via Forscan.

Nope. Mine is untouched.
