Thanks for all the feedback and comments, we truly appreciate the support and the honesty!!

One thing we do suggest when purchasing headers is to get them Jet-Hot coated to lower the under-hood temperature and help keep the exhaust heat off the intake system and all the electronics located in the engine compartment.

Now available Side-Exit Exhaust and Dual Out the Bumper Exhaust. Call or PM for any questions

Of these three long tube headers:
  • Do any of them have equal length primaries?
  • What is the diameter of their primaries?
  • What is the diameter of the collector?
  • Are any of them tri-Y primaries configuration?

Don't get my wrong, customer service is very important, but I'd like to hear about the physical differences too.

I've done this on my motorcycle exhausts and not only does it perform well but looks better (imo).

Can this be added as an option to SW headers? The nearest Jet-Hot shop for me is about 40 minutes away. Thx.

I just saw the post about the jet hot (or other similar coating). I was going to state this as well as it is another lesson learned the hardway on the GT500. I put the headers on THEN after a year wanted to do this and took them off and had it done then had to put them on again. After the first install and learning what a pain in the arse it was I paid for the take off and re-install...I want to say about $800 bucks but it was a few years ago....regardless after doing it I'd have paid double.

I have the ARH on the GT500, a know people with the Stainless Works, and the Kooks. My feeling is that all are good. I want to say kooks came with an option of being shipped already heat coated??? If so I'd go that route in the name of time and lazy owner....If not then 6 one way and half a dozen the other. All of us are happy with the set up we have and would be happy with any of the other people's as well.

Get the coating done first though!!!

there is definitely drone at 60 to just under 70 I have never heard drone before I have a f250 diesel with straight pips so I know what is loud and now what drone is not sure what is causing it would like to hear a sound clip on the SW headers with out high flow cats and the S-Type mufflers I think it is from the mufflers not being hole perforated. I looked in side the muffler before the install. they have the hook triangle holes like a can opener would make I would like to hear one with plan holes. I have also had glass-packs and loud mufflers before just not this much power under the hood.

When and if I manage to import a Raptor to Tanzania, I am going to go with the full Kooks system. After spending more time watching exhaust note videos on Youtube than I would care to admit, I was sold by the fact that the Kooks system is very quiet while cruising but sounds amazing under load. The Raptor would be my vehicle for going on safari and exploring so if it is screaming all the time it is going to scare the animals off and just be annoying for long rides. That being said, when the time comes to push it in the terrain it was meant to inhabit, it will sound badass.

The quiet/loud difference was the tiebreaker for me between SW and Kooks. From the SW videos on YouTube, it seems like their system is just a bit too loud all the time for my needs. Their video showcasing sound levels in and out of the cab, etc. was very helpful. There is a 2012 Raptor video by KooksTV on YouTube that really showcases the quiet/loud difference that won me over if anyone is interested.

Hope that helps!

I have he Kooks headers and high flow cats. They are high quality and good fit. I installed them myself--what a bitch! I see why shops charge so much to do this. As in most of the extras I have added to my truck, the instructions are lacking. Pictures would certainly help even if they were only on the web site. The next time I would do this it would go faster. I have Borla cat back, the system is fairly quiet until you step on it. A little drone about 1800 rpm. 5star 91 performance tune and AFE cai. Really happy with overall outcome.
