MPHD'ed my Raptor today

When I received my Raptor it had some rust on my rear axle. When the dealer replaced my leaking diff seal they were kind enough to address the rust. So that is one step I did not have to do. This morning I decided to rust proof my undercarriage with the Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector that I heard so much about. I heard that it took 4 cans but unless I did something wrong it only took me two. I coated the frame rails, shackles, cross members, A arms, coils, transmission mount, hitch, and axle. I did not undercoat the bed or the cab since they are aluminum.
Thanks,
Tone

Did you wire brush everything first? What type of prep is needed?
What did the dealer actually do to address the rust?
Thanks

Did you tape up and paper up or just control the can to avoid over spray and is it black? What prep work did you do before applying hdmp.

Looks like the dealer just wire brushed the rust areas and hit it with some paint. I am assuming Rustoleum.

As for prep I took the truck to a local car wash and washed the undercarriage. Then my son and I crawled underneath and dried/ wiped off every area we could reach. From there I did not bother to tape anything up. The amsoil is safe on rubber and plastic so I just used control of the can to spray down all the steel area's I could find.

I'm going with Valugard through the dealership. Life time warranty that's transferable.

Truck looks great! Can I ask where you got the Amsoil Protector at? Can not find it around here, would like to get some and do my truck when it gets here. 10/27 build, was unloaded off railcar in truck shipping yard 70 miles from me today, hope I do not have to wait 3 more months for it to come the last 70 miles! Thanks
