I just got back from a 2 month trip where I travelled approx 6000 miles on dirt roads and trails. My truck (Supercrew)has these coils on mid perch with wsi hd springs in the back as well as 37 inch tires. When I first put the springs in I thought the ride was pretty good but after this trip I can say that when you hit potholes there is very little give and the ride is very harsh. This also happens on protruding rocks on the road. I had approx. 500 lbs of gear in the back. The wsi springs are awesome. The truck literally got shook apart. A lot of the aluminum items broke or cracked, all my hella driving lights broke at the mounts, door locks quit working, windows could not be left down as they would rattle and squeak, doors all started squeaking and rattling, the steering rack started making a horrendous rattling noise(truck has cooler and icon resevoir) and the resevoir would get so hot you couldn't touch it.

Also both front shocks blew their guts out and 1 actually started to come apart. The cap unscrewed itself and got hung up in the springs. All in all I am not very impressed with the truck. I could go on with all the other weird things that went on with the motor but at least the thing never quit running. I guess I shouldn't say that as the low oil pressures light would come on and the engine would shut down but restart.

Don't worry. Warranty will cover it.

How exactly does asking about settling and ride mean that I am implying that "the shocks will blow up"?

I don't think these progressive springs are listed as an "unbreakable" part. Anything can be pushed over the limit of abuse, as you have certainly proven!

Done.
OK, I've got a to say. lol
I remember doing coilovers on a 1/2 ton pick up that took me about an hour to do both sides. This took me three hours. With a lift. Maybe it was just my state of mind when I did it? It seemed like I didn't need to do all I did to get them in and out? At least the 2nd one took me half the time.
I drive my truck like I drove my track car. On dirt which is 50% of my driving I drive it like I drove my RZR-S.
My first impression on the bumpy asphalt streets wasn't a good one. I felt way to much response in the steering wheel where it was just the front end before. So it flattened out the street bumps up front but it all ended up in the steering wheel. The rutted holey dirt roads was a different story. Much better. Still more feedback in the hands than I like but what can you do? Collateral effect.
These are just from an hour and a half ride home, half on and half off road.
The pictures show before and after pictures up near the ass of my plow sander for scale.
Before springs, 40 1/2" from the ground to the fender lip up front and 24 1/4" from mid center cap to the lip.
After springs, 42 1/2" ground to lip and 27" from mid center cap to the lip.
Everything else suspension related is stock. The shocks are at BOTTOM perch before AND after.
I love while in the seat the front end isn't raked down.
It doesn't dive when in a hard brake situation like stock. It does a little but not much to worry about or be disappointed with.
Another note. I'm an **** mo fo. I over analyze everything and shit always has to be 4.0. (spot on perfect)
nuff said for now.

Just an update.
3/8" is what I've got for settling up front.

Yeah, same here. I've only had mine on a couple weeks, but they are down about 1/4-1/2" from when first installed. Was at 42 1/2 at install and now at around 42-42 1/4".

I've been wondering...since it seems like these spring give about 1/2" more than stock mid perch, would these clear 37" BFG AT's??? Seems like mid perch is just a c hair away from working...maybe the 1/2" more would be the little extra that's needed?

I just finished installing a new set of shocks as well as a new set of progressive spring. My clearance with old shocks and old progressive springs on mid perch was 25 1/2 ,the clearance now is 26 3/4". So the old shocks/springs settled 1 1/4". Another thing is only the bottom 2 coil touch were as the old springs had 3 coils touching.
