Here is a close up pic from Gary showing my Right Front Tire partially separating at the Bead.
8721-Super-Zoom.jpg

I just looked at the tire, there is about an 1" of a vinyl 3/8"W label sticking out between the bead and the rim that was not there before. So I am going to take it in to have looked at and the balance checked. Now the question is should I show them the picture?

Just picked up the truck from the Dealer-rip, They replaced the engine control module under warranty and they want me to fix the exhaust before replacing the rear brake cable. Later of which is on national back-order. He listed part number 6L322A635M for $50. I went on to Ford Parts.com and found 2A635A for $28 and went ahead and ordered it. They want an hour's labor at $98 to install.

It looks fairly simple to replace the cable, there is a disconnect right under Driver's side door and the left rear cable links into the longer Right one by the left rear tire.

If anyone knows the sequence for removing and replacing that would be helpful... I know, search first... yeah I am lazy by nature.

Once Exhaust and Cable fixed they will replace the Rt Rear Axle Seal, I am thinking they will do that under warranty, they didn't say otherwise and there was N/C when I picked up the truck.

Will need to redo the tune too.

Looks like Air-Softing with 16 year olds is back on for this Friday at Miller's Garage right before Ocatillo turnoff which is right next to Plaster City. MIller's Garage is easilly visable from I8 right after you come out of the mtns.

I will likely go play with the Raptor while they are shooting at each other Friday night and then again in the morning on Saturday. We can camp inside Friday night. Food etc on own. Any local Raptors want to come and play?

I melted my ebrake cable. Caused weak brakes. Wheel position errors by doing the same thing with my exhaust. Not a smart on my part. Didn't have the leaky axle seal. But I did change my fluid after I figured out the issue.

Wholesale Tube Bending - Poway

How did the fluid look? Thanks for posting up.

I would tell them to take the tire off, check the inside, clean any dirt/crud out and reseat it. I would not show them the photo......

But, as popular as you are getting, they may have already seen it :Na_Na_Na_Na:

So did some Raptor errands this am. First stop Wholesale Pipe Bending, here in Poway made some nice down tubes right in front of the axle, also got a chance for a close up of the damage and they gave me some advice on how to replace the brake cable. These guys are off road enthusiasts and were glad to see the Raptor being used as it was intended. $60 and 20 minutes later I was on my way. Drone is gone.

Interesting, that Marlon mentioned that the Raptor Muffler / Exhaust was already somewhat of a performance system over stock F150. Didn't know that.

Marlon, the owner is on the right

Next stop, the boys at Discount Tire, they know me well. "So, did you get another flat?" nope, check this out...
IMAG1007.jpg

Tire is pulled off, as they break the bead a big puff of familiar Tan colored dust and small rock chips comes flying out of the tire - Wiz was right.

Pulled tire off all the way and we were able to see the dust caked up along the bead, no damage to tire.

Here is Juan cleaning the rim:

Funny thing is since there was no loss of air, and no noticeable wobble, how would I know this was the case?

Oh, I went ahead and showed the boys Gary's pictures, they loved them. I also went onto Facebook with Abby and we found the pics of my truck and Derek's. She tagged em. There were very positive comments / likes.

Sneak Peek RPG Sliders

I met Jarrett in Oceanside yesterday afternoon to return the extra 37" spare he loaned me for the recent Day in the Dirt, got a chance to preview the work on the sliders. These are an early pre-production test set.

What I can't show you yet is how massive these things are under the cab, they go way back with solid skid plate that runs the full length. The way they mount is very much a secret although the Raptors meeting up in Reno will get a close up look. Suffice to say they will be strong enough to lift side of vehicle with.

Jarrett had me take a video showing him jumping on them, and he hurt his ankle - listen for it.

Driving back, the "F"in Engine light comes back on. :i_redface: I was already pissed that the Dealer-Rip did not fix the rough Idle and now it is worse. Was hoping to wait until I get the rear E-Brake replaced so they can replace the Rt Rear Axle seal under warranty.

So I took it in this morning and waited, figuring they could simply pull the DTC, order parts and let me get on my way. An hour later I find the news. O2 sensor again, then I get some BS line that they are going to place a "Hot" call to their tech support as they don't wish to keep throwing parts at it.

Then go on to tell me their theories that it is being thrown off by EM interference from something, like my Nav, VHF or TPMS or possibly their own Alternator - so 1 out of 4 chance its their fault...

Yesterday I found out that when the Dealer replaced the PCM (engine Control Module) that it locked my SCT device. I am sending it back to SCT to be unlocked, then will load new 5 Star Tune.

Take Away: Make sure you always revert back to stock tune prior to taking your truck into Dealer for any DTC. SCT is waiving the $150 unlock charge for me since I can prove the Dealer changed out the PCM, but this will take up to 3 weeks to get the unit back.

Thank you, I like most of them as well, its a work in progress. When you read thru it if something doesn't work to my expectation, I call it out.

Oh, we got a GREAT look at the new hardware, front and rear bumpers look amazing, and those side skids are the business, the way they are mounted, along with the added protection. Those side skids are just plain game changers. I can't want to get a set.

Boy, couldn't have said it any better, can't wait to hear how they performed, how it felt or if it changed the sensation in the cab, extra stiffness and if any Frame vibrations made it passed the urethane. It has all the makings of a Home Run.

I was looking at the Reno Run when your post came thru. Looks like a fun time. Big J's post in the beginning is a classic, lmao
