Yeah, I got used to it on my 2006 F-150 FX4. There were posts on it before, and I have asked multiple ford dealers.....basically unless you want to weld one on you're screwed. :893karatesmiley-thu

It's for accidents and shit. Don't want the driver banging their head on that, but screw the passenger!

It's not that hard to get into for me. I just step right in. Only 5'8" too

It'd be nice so as not to have drag your ass across the seat, and wear it down so much.

Yeah that's the one reason I'd want one. Other than that I've got no use for it.

If anyone is thinking about installing an oh shit handle, just be careful. These trucks have side curtain airbags. You really don't want to be drilling into one of them.

I looked into this, but abandoned it because of the side airbags...the driver's "side" airbag would have to be modified, or removed. It is indeed a safety issue.

I kind of wore out my last truck seat like this. Once I noticed it I made a mental note just not to drag my ass. Now it's just a habit and I don't wear through the seat any more. You'll get used to it with some effort, then it becomes habit - but I know exactly what you are talking about.

I guess being 6'3" helps too though.
