Dude, I did not want the tailgate step either and now that i have it i love it!

I will say that after having the truck for a while, I wish I had the step. The bumper is so skinny that it's hard to use it as a step. Also, having had a Silverado prior to my Raptor, those little corner steps are super handy on the Silverado.

Congrats on the new truck! Love the color!

I had the "man step" on my truck when it first came out back in 09 and all my friends used to make fun of me for having it. Funny thing is now they have it on theirs and they make of fun of me for not having it on my Raptor. They also make fun of my ecoboost but that's another story

Congrats 04SSHD, I thought you might go for one that was already built and I don't really blame you. Love that color and hang in there with the bead locks, I think they look fantastic - especially with the LF Gray!

Most dealers are really lacking in communicating with their customers who have ordered a vehicle and I was seriously considering doing the same after waiting months with no word except when I bugged them. I have a source within Ford who kept me up to date and that's really the only reason I waited this long for mine. Finally have a build date of 6/3/18 so I'm excited. What most dealers/salespeople don't get is that we want to know what is going on with our orders...not just the day we ordered then a call 120 days later. And COTUS/ETIS were useless (Ford you reading this)?? I have my build date, VIN and Window Sticker and COTUS still says "can't locate vehicle - please contact dealer". Ford Performance line is good though, they have solid updates!!

Congrats again and let's see some off road pics!!

After my last chat with ford performance they said it's not common for trucks to be pending in their system for 2 months. That means my dealer did NOT have any allocations available. They received 6 new raptors in the 2 months of me waiting. They knew the truck would be delayed and they lied to me about it. I'm not too happy about that, but once I get home with my raptor I'll go get my deposit back for the one I ordered.

With that said, I have a very scenic drive ahead of me so I'll be sure to get some photos as I cross the Rockies and go through Moab

Houston dealerships all seem to have gotten 6-10 Raptors delivered prior to Memorial Day Weekend. They're all over their lots.

Congrats on the purchase! I picked up a Leadfoot SCREW yesterday at MSRP

eclou, good to see a 6SOL member here. Haven't been on that forum in years. Remember you had an awesome garage project a few years back....

Most dealers in town have a 2-3 trucks, I think Autonation has something like 13 between the 2 locations. The fact that some still have an ADM when the dealer down the road will sell at sticker just amazes me.

Hoping to finally pick one up at Sterling McCall next week after my Porsche sells.....

Yea, that's one thing I learned when I ordered my GT350 - was to confirm the dealer actually had an allocation for your order, otherwise it was going to be a long wait. Glad you got your new truck! Funny, I bought mine from a dealer in MO and will be taking that same route home. Going to take my time and make a road trip out of it, going through Denver to see friends and down through Bryce, Zion and Moab. Have fun and post some pics of your new Raptor in action!!
