I'm ready to finally move my truck to the middle perch. Reading SDHQ's how to Adjusting your front Fox Coil-Overs I'm wondering if I can do this without removing the coil/shock assembly from the truck.

I know this has been talked about before on here but I can't find it.

Madcow, im not sure what type of spring compressor you got but i dont think you will have room to get in there. Plus even when the front end is off the ground there is still allot of tension on things. I would pull them off.

no, don't even bother with trying to do it on the truck. once you have the sockets you need it literally takes 5 minutes to remove the shock. Then you can safely disassemble the shock on a work bench or table and it's a breeze. it will save your back and knuckles.

Also dont use a ball joint seperator on the upper control arm. Just wack the top of the spindle next to the ball with a hammer and it pops right off. Also Also I had to use my impact wrench to get enough torque on the spring compressor bolts and it kept me from chasing the thing around the garage trying to tighten it.

Before I proceed

Is this a problem?

And Socomech, PirateAir or anyone else, what are the torque specs on the upper control arm and tie rod nuts?

P.S. Tilt head to the right to look at picture.

Try this...

In other words, will the spring spin around to sit in the blue thingy correctly?

Ya its a problem. You need to seat it up to the stop... What its doing like that is giving you less of a lift like that... So ride height is different, toe will be off... Its not a HOLY SHIT problem its more like a damit I need to fix this asap problem

Yeah, mine went together just as it came apart. There should be no space between the blue and black.
