Thanks for the advice. That's the kind of stuff I'm looking for.Welcome to the place, congrats on your Gen 1, the Gen 2 shocks will not fit, the rears will but the ride quality won't be the same, the fronts will also fit if you weld on new shock buckets. Better off to have yours rebuilt when the need arises. Crawl under your truck and look at the inside of the rockers where the running boards bolt on, the factory used duct tape to cover up the holes on both sides, pretty sure that will all be peeling off by now. Remove all of that duct tape and clean the surface area and install new black gorilla tape over all of the holes. Clean out the drain holes at the very bottom of the rockers while you are at it.
Don't understand the oil/air separator and is dif cover for looks or function? Thanks!Nice Gen1. The fuse and transmission cooler are good upgrades - should change transmission fluid with addition of trans cooler. You may want to consider an oil/air separator (passenger side) PCV recirc line and Ford Racing rear dif cover. If you can't verify maintenance, you have a lot of maintenance service ahead of you. Research Roush SC maintenance requirements. Like someone said above, avoid Gen 2 shocks - you can get upgraded Gen1 shocks that fit. Braking would be the next upgrade I would suggest. Have fun with your truck!
