Several years ago I got a chance to drive a friends Raptor in the Nevada desert and have been envious ever since. Now I have my own, be it used but it's new to me. 2013 Roush edition with 66,000K. Wanted white but when I saw the Red with the Raptor decals and Roush emblems I was hooked. The only mods the PO's made were adding a train whistle horn which I will be removing post haste. Doesn't look like the truck has ever been off road. Not sure what if any mods I will make. I don't plan on racing it, abusing it or getting into a pissing contest with the bolt on mania that I see some of the guys doing. I would appreciate any suggestions regarding mods that improve functionality and life span. My first mod was a tailgate assist which had already paid for itself. My second will be the Saudi trans cooler upgrade.

Maybe a Gen 1 guy can chime in here, but I think Gen 2 shocks are a direct bolt on for the Gen 1s. Would give you better off road experience and can get a set from a guy upgrading to Fox or Kings.

Welcome to FRF, Pictures. Or you bought a prius.

I hear a lot of the Jen Juan crew recommending the fuse 27 replacement, need a Gen1 owner to chime in on specifics.

Thanks, I'll look into Gen 2 shocks and I have the fuse relocation kit on order. I was just going to buy my own fuse and use my own wires but went the safe route. Here are a few pics of my Prius.

Your first two mods are good but I would drive the truck to get a feel for what might be needed. Someone mentioned fuse 27, it is a TSB that should have been a recall, make it a priority. Beautiful Roush have fun.

Welcome to the place, congrats on your Gen 1, the Gen 2 shocks will not fit, the rears will but the ride quality won't be the same, the fronts will also fit if you weld on new shock buckets. Better off to have yours rebuilt when the need arises. Crawl under your truck and look at the inside of the rockers where the running boards bolt on, the factory used duct tape to cover up the holes on both sides, pretty sure that will all be peeling off by now. Remove all of that duct tape and clean the surface area and install new black gorilla tape over all of the holes. Clean out the drain holes at the very bottom of the rockers while you are at it.
