Help! I just did the same stage 2 install as you. I have everything in and for the life of me I can't get the passenger side headlamp trim cover to go back in. it has one clip at 45 degrees and rest are straight. from the factory they are all like that. and then the driver side doesn't have that, all straight. I've watched a few videos and Cobb website instructions say you don't have to remove the headlight trim piece fully to get the grill out and back in, so that's what I did. but wondering how to get it back in at the right angle to not break the one clip. any help would be appreciated. I've called Cobb, and other installers, no one really has anything to say. my next stop is to pop into my local body shop to see if they have any tricks or if im doing the order of assembly wrong etc.

Post a picture. My guess is you have bent (yes I know it is plastic) one of the clips.

it has been a while since I did my install. Make sure you study the physics of the tabs and clips, slots. Then you will know where to push, where to pull. Sorry i can't be more help.

Post a picture. My guess is you have bent (yes I know it is plastic) one of the clips.

the passenger side only, not driver, has one clip with. slight angle to it, like 45 degrees almost. and its not bent, I checked several OEM ones for sale and they all have that same clip with slight angle

Just like I thought, you have bent yours over just a little. I have done this a couple times and seen it happen 100's of times.

It ain't no big deal. The clip itself is fine, the plastic nub the clips slides on to, on the molding is bent over slightly.

When installing it all the clips where not lined up with their slots and that one bent over because it wasn't in it's slot. Just pull it straight. It will have a tendency to always want to do that now that is has been bent. Pull it a little past 90 degrees, it may help to warm it with a hair drier. I don't normally do that, but I don't normally have a hair drier handy either.

Since that tab will now always want to bend over you must make sure that tab/clip is in its corresponding slot, once that clip is lined up and inserted into its slot a 1/32 of an inch,(just enough so that it stays lined up while alinging the others).if needed you can manipulate the molding to align the other clips with their slots.

It could have been bent by previous removal/installation, again it will want to always do that now.

Yea I am 99% sure. The picture you posted with the one clip circled in black actually looks pretty straight to me.
I have one here i can pull off and double check myself.
