I'm also the interface to the DNR who stated a 0 drinking policy while on the routes.

I honestly don't mean to **** in anyone's corn flakes here. I think this is an awesome event and I agree the participants should abide by the rules.

But I didn't hear anyone say he was on the route while drinking.

If I had 3 beers in a four hour period, I'm fairly certain my BAC would be zero.

I know @dan 06 said this, but I personally witnessed him take a shot, he was holding more and trying to get us all to partake. His breath and mannerisms were not that of a 0 BAC.

Did anyone give him a breath test? Maybe it was O'dulls? I don't know, I wasn't there.

That's right, you weren't so why are you pushing so hard when you don't know?

He was over the limit, AND MULTIPLE GROUP MEMBERS SAID THEY DIDNT WANT HIM TO RUN WITH US. He ran with us the next day and as far as I know there were no issues. Thought he skipped day three cause his girlfriend had a close up view of a cliff and got scared.
I enjoyed him in our group last year too, but not on that day.
@Dan06 if it makes you feel better, I told our lead I was worried about you making it back to the hotel or getting a DUI with our stickers on your truck.
If that had happened GLRE and everyone at Snoball would have been screwed because all UP cops would know you were with us.
You may have even been legally Drunk!
Why you would drive from Arizona and choose to drink instead of run with us, I don't know.

Its pretty easy requirement we set. If you see someone drinking they probably arn't at 0.00. They can wait to drink when back at the hotel. So if a GLRE support truck sees you drinking its a pretty easy call.

Or if your passenger tells us that you are and you need to get out of that truck its pretty simple.

I hear ya. At the end of the day it's your deal and guys should follow the rules or go out their ass on the line.

My only point was that if it's really as bad as everyone is making it out to be then sending him away from the group or letting him get away from the group isn't helping you. It's putting you more at risk because you now have no contact with someone that is under the influence. If he crashes and kills someone and tells the story that one of your support trucks sent him away from the group then that's still on you. At the very least you are opening up the door to litigation. If someone would have called the police and reported a drunken driver and had the course of events on record with law enforcement, then you are covering your ass.
