Only the plastic ones, and it definitely wasn’t a guarantee those would leak either. A buddy of mine with a 2017 and a plastic pan has 100+K miles with no leaks. I 100% agree with the desire to have a V8 in a truck, but it’s no different than the manual/auto transmission debate. Sometimes an auto just works better in a certain application regardless on your view on “save the manuals“. If they offered a manual trans raptor I’d run far far away. Now if I was going to buy a Miata, manual all day. The torque and high altitude ability of the 3.5 makes a NA V8 hard to justify. Being able to have basically the same amount of power at 10K feet is just amazing vs all my other NA SUV/trucks I’ve used at that altitude.

Performance at altitude is one of the biggest benefits of a boosted motor that isn’t mentioned enough.

i like this guy..

it wouldnt be billions to have an aluminum 7.3L godzilla, but theres someone that is in V6 ecoboost marketing that disagrees..

everyone is sayin the V8 is going away, but if that was the case, they'd still be putting 6.2L in all the buses as suggested is the only suitable platform...

happy new year yall
