My family owns both a CDJR franchise and a Ford franchise. I could have bought a TRX or Raptor below invoice. I chose the Raptor 37 and mine finally came in last Saturday! I have driven both. The TRX is nice and obviously fast. However, I like the way the Raptor handles way better and it is plenty fast enough. I’ve always chosen a better chassis and suspension over horsepower though. It’s hard to use 702 horsepower in a day to day scenario but you can whip the Raptor around and have a blast the way it handles. I prefer the Raptor looks and the interior over the TRX as well. The TRX definitely has a nice interior but I think the Raptor is sportier and will age better. I would also get 8 mpg in the TRX..I’d be filling up every other day! The Raptor isn’t great on gas but certainly better than the TRX. Just my .02. Either way you will have a great truck.

Im asking for a few reasons.
Theres never been competition woth Gen 1 or Gen 2

Ford has changed my status back and forth almost every month. So I considered a truck I never would have prior. And love it.

But again, I have no measurable comparison between the Gen 3. Havent even seen the cab of one. So just seeing if people are truly happy with theirs and if they were worth the wait.
A constant running theme here is “it’s worth the wait!” And I think, don’t quote me on this, one of this forum’s Administrators has both so perhaps he could provide you with insight on both.

Get the raptor. After a few months of $8/gallon there is gonna be a lot of TRX buyers remorse. Probably be able to pick up a low mileage one for a song in a few years if you still want one. I thought about one but glad I am still waiting on my Raptor order. I drive a lot though. Gas prices have doubled since then.

I went from a '17 in Avalanche Gray Raptor >>>Rebel>>>Power Wagon>>>2022 Raptor in Rapid Red

I got rid of the '17 as it was having cam phaser issues and a few minor warranty claims, locks froze up, sounded like ass and I missed a V8 etc. I got a Rebel, put a Borla attack system on it and it sounded bad ass, really loud but it was fricken music. Then the '19 Power Wagon came out and I loved it. Had that for nearly three years. It SUCKS gas though and is slow. But it's really solid and I think built well and will last a long time, it's a workhorse. It rides real stiff, driving it as a daily wears on you.

Now I'm back in a Raptor. Ford did a great job on the new look, great interior and new tech, seats are nicer, the dash is way better as are the finishes. It looks tougher than my '17 and it feels put together better than the '17. The new panel stampings have a cool crease in the fenders and sides of the truck bed. The stampings are also more rounded than the '17 and gives them better integrity (not waves like the Gen two near the door handles etc) The suspension is much better than the '17, coils in the back with the long trailing arms combined with the new live valve shocks, it's impressive. The truck handles fantastic for what it is. Real solid feeling truck overall.

The way I look at the TRX is a bit like my Rebel, with a hellcat engine. That's how I feel about them even though Ram did much more than just that. I would have got back into the same interior more or less (and to be honest it looks dated now). The Raptor just has more presence than the TRX and think it's a better product. I have no ragrats....:lol2:

I don't think you will be disappointed with either truck. I had a 2012 and a 2020 Raptor and now have a 2022 TRX. I was very happy with my Raptors but I just missed the V8 sound. The V6 offered plenty of performance for me although the sound and performance of the V8 is more to my liking.

I don't have to drive mine as a daily driver ( although I find myself driving it most of the time) so these uncalled for gas prices are not a huge concern other than knowing I am being screwed by our current govt but I digress. If you have to drive it everyday for any distance then the Raptor better fuel economy could be a strong consideration.

I have not seen Gen3 interior but I do like the TRX interior better than my Raptor interior on the Gen2 but that is just personal taste.

I don't off-road but I was amazed at the off-road capabilities of the Raptor when I went to the Raptor Assault. I will say I have been completely satisfied with my TRX so far. We are so fortunate to have either of these trucks to choose from. I don't think you can make a bad choice here.

Mine has been built for 4 months, ordered 7 months ago with endless ETA changes and still sitting waiting for delivery, close to bailing. Don't count on getting your truck any time soon, get the TRX awesome truck man!

You think you've been waiting awhile, think again. The wait is what it is. When you bail, be sure to post it here for someone that's lurking. Quite sure they'll thank you for doing the leg work. "Close to bailing"...you're either in or out, ain't no halfway in!;)

Ok, I have had a GEN 1 (2012) Liked it alot wish I never got rid of it, fast forward. Bought a RAM TRX last year (SEP21) Fun to drive, everyone wants to race:) RAM TRX is also very comfort friendly on interior. But I had a chance to land a Raptor GEN 3, got good trade money for the TRX so it offset dealer adm. GEN 3 nice truck, but eventually it did not fill my need for no replacement for displacement. Sold it. Needed my V8 (yes I have issues) but that's besides the point. So now I have purchased a 2014 RAPTOR SVT, Black, low miles very happy with it, I think I will hold on to this one...…My wife hopes. :)

So true. Was rough waiting all those months too. But watching Ford keep raising the MSRP not to mention the crazy ADM's some of these dealers are getting was all worth it when I got it, and paid the October price. It was like buying for $5k under MSRP!

I have no idea what crazy method Ford uses to select orders, then why some get built and shipped, and others sit for months. Why blake's order was built before me and is still sitting is crazy. My buddy ordered the day after me back in October, same dealer with an allocation, and he doesn't even have a VIN yet they are scheduling December, January, etc. orders. Why can't you pull the orders in the order they were received, FORD?? Totally get all the supply chain issues and other challenges, but Ford's "logic" with handling their scheduling is truly bizarre. Sounds like it's being run by the same imbeciles in the Biden administration! lol
