Okay, allow me to bring my usual civility and cool mouth-breathing self to this topic.
First, Combatninja is on multiple forums and has always behaved in an odd manner. I know of him from the Porsche forum where, while he likes to engage in verbal combat, he also adds to the discussion.
i, as some others here, do feel the Raptor is expensive. In fact, as I embark on buying my 4th one, a Gen3, I always cross shop when doing so. I look at the Audi Q8 and think, hmm, is that maybe a better choice?
But I come back to the Raptor because I love it. Because I can. Because it excites me to look at, to drive, to occasionally offroad. it’s truly a Jack of all trades and a master of many.
When I blanche at the cost of postage, of sending a package, my wife gently reminds me we aren’t in the 70s. I just shipped the rear panel of my JLAudio F212 to be repaired. Weighed 54 pounds. Cost $130 to ship. Unreal. Oh, also $550 to fix.
Heck, when I was a kid a slice of pizza was 20 CENTS. We just stopped in for pizza. I got a chicken slice, my wife a calzone, and two sodas. NINETEEN dollars. Holy s h I t.
A sandwich in a deli in NY is 20 bucks, and if you go into the famous Katz’s deli, lunch for 3 will run over a hundred bucks.
Been to a sporting event lately? 20 years ago I had 4 FREE tickets to Yankee Stadium. We are family of 5. Paid for one ticket. It was a cold day. 3 kids and wife were cold. 4 sweatshirts later, food, a $600 day, 20 years ago, with 4 FREE tickets. Would‘ve been a thousand dollar day if I had to pay for the tickets.
So, is a Raptor expensive? Damn right it is. Everything is. But it’s damn sexy, just like that vette, and damn worth it.
