The butthurt is strong in here. Why are so many of you unable to grasp the fact that I am not 'cross-shopping' a Raptor with a Z06?

^^^Thread win^^^This has got to be the most pretentious sounding post I’ve ever read on this forum in 4 years. Congratulations. Please proofread before you post with “mouth-breather” expectations of poor grammar and punctuation.
To your point: People are going to view the value of that $80k+ differently based on their use. For me, $100k+ for a 2 seater at this point in my life is incomprehensible. 31, 2 kids, government salary. However, I can justify a Raptor because of its practicality and the amount of boxes it checks. It’s a great family ride and does everything (except a 1.1g skid pad) that I would like it to do. Completely subjective, but I don’t think there’s a vehicle out there that competes with the raptor as far as a “swiss army knife” of vehicles when you factor in capabilities, MPGs, resale, etc.
If you look at it in terms of physical, tangible amount of vehicle you’re getting for the money, the raptor makes a pretty good value. The tech, space, size, suspension, autonomous capabilities, power figures, etc. really make the raptor a much less compromised vehicle than a lot (in my opinion all) of vehicles. And if you’re so apt to keep a vehicle pretty stripped out, getting an 800a raptor at $66-67k is probably the best deal in the truck market right now unless you need to tow a ton (or tonne as you’d put it, typing with your pinky out).
If you’re truly shopping for a truck and not just jumping on forums to flex your thesaurus thumbing skills and reliving your high SAT scoring days of yore, maybe check out the TRD Pro Tundra that’s coming soon. I don’t think it’s a better value for money but it might not make you so mad when you look at the sticker price; assuming it’ll be ~60k. I also don’t think you’ll find less “mouth breather” comments on the TRD forums but I do know that despite their copious amount of satire and ribbing, the raptor community is the best out there, hands down. That’s a non-tangible you can add to your list of value:dollar.
Good luck to you on your Z, and to your patience on this forum.
hands the bag to @BigBlueWow, what a mess. This is entertaining though, I think it should play out a bit longer.
You have to blow on that whistle, or did you miss his post?View attachment 328418
So, if you’re going call out spelling mistakes, pay particular attention to your own musings.
Bless your heart !
You’re entitled to your opinion and to express it, but not necessarily on FRF and subject to time, place and manner restrictions. Doing so, however, opens you up to others potentially expressing their opinions which may be counter to yours.
Let’s focus on the value argument, because you have not substantiated the Raptor GT relationship or lack thereof regarding the power plant. What you’re neglecting to account for in your opinion is that like few other vehicles on the road or off the road in this case, the Raptor is greater than the sum of its parts in that it is balanced extremely well across the spectrum of power, stability, handling and durability and not skewed into any one performance ‘direction’. Anyone can throw a graphics package and expensive shocks on a truck. Ford went to the trouble testing the F150 and the Raptor well beyond what most users will do and make sure that these two will meed even the most demanding consumer expectations.
Unlike most of the responders, I also think that the Raptor is overpriced but that is colored by my previous vehicle buying. It is expensive for what you get, but so is the C8. Manufacturers also have to meet the DOT and EPA regs, and let’s not forget CA emissions we’re all paying the price for. In that light, I can understand the high MSRP of the Raptor, which likely came out of the engineering proposal more powerful, with different options available and they were whittled down to what can be sold in 50 states, meet the regs and still survive contact with the consumer. I may not agree with the Raptor MSRP, but I can understand it and ever time I am off road with the Raptor I am reminded why I spent the money and I have not once regretted spending that money. The downpayment I put on the Raptor was the biggest personal check I’ve ever written. Just like the tattoo says : “no regerts” ;-)
Respectfully, no, you’re not. The ‘clickbait’ title was an insult to every FRF member who has bought or is considering a Gen3.
You had other motivations for your post and the title and it was not honest, forthright debate. Had you been interested in a thoughtful or productive discussion, you’d have chosen better words and language. Instead, you chose another path.
TL;DR: you have exhibited childish, troll like behavior with your rude, insulting post and attempted condescension calling out ‘mouth breather spelling errors’ after failing to proofread your own post. Go forth and buy your C8 and do so with the certainty of your convictions.
@Big Blue : This discussion is a cl@wn show. can we get a lockdown or delete please?
Ain't never blowing on that whistle. LOLYou have to blow on that whistle, or did you miss his post?

While I agree with your post, why cry to Big Blue to delete it? It’s entertaining. Go back to posting prius comments and getting your post count up in the welcome forum.
There are a (precious) few intelligent folks here and I was hoping some of them respond. I'm well aware that this is not typical fare for this forum, as this entire site tends to skew very 'fanboi' if you will. Not sure we need another "Just Got Her Home" thread with 17 pictures of a new Raptor in gray or a scintillating debate on which brotastic wheels look best when paired with the gaudy graphics package.
Heaven forbid we talk about something a bi
I’ve financed plenty of vehicles over the years, but I paid cash for my Raptor. The $ came from previous successful investments. I don’t have the hassle of dealing with the lender, and I can turn around and sell it for more than I paid for it if I want to. It feels good to own it outright and delete the “car payment” row from my budget. The $500 or so I’m saving each month goes into my kids’ college fund instead.I'd love to hear them. The only reason you would pay cash would be you're simply a millionaire and don't want to deal with it or you couldn't make more money elsewhere. Being as your displaying cheap concerns I doubt you are. At nearly 1.9% you would be an idiot to not be able to do better with investing. The fact that you are comparing a Raptor to a Vette tells me you have no idea what you want. Doors that way....
Why are you here, seems just trolling?2 responses in and exactly what I expected from this forum. Complete with spelling mistakes!
