Gen 2 SCAB makeover…totally not ripping off Geoff’s 2.5 build!

Quick update: Got the RH (passenger) side turbo and manifold off with no real issues:

Except of course for the requisite puking of coolant from the lines all over the garage floor! LoL

Heat shield removed; that will have to be slightly modified with the larger Garret/Full Race turbos of course; that’s why I also have heat shield blankets for the new snails:

And all but the front two manifold studs (top and bottom) came out with the manifold nuts…those are 1/2” btw, NOT 13mm. All came out easy-peasy thanks to hitting them with liquid wrench penetrating oil a couple days ago.

But I stripped out my last T45 bit trying to remove the LH (driver’s side) turbo:



…so I need to run out and get a couple new ones.

I also need to tun some errands while we’re out, but should be back in time to get the LH turbo and manifold removed, as well as the front timing cover, water pump, etc. but almost certainly won’t have time to pull the motor tonight…we’re hosting a dinner party, and my lovely bride expects me to actually be there to help her entertain the guests! LoL

I want to turn the after dinner entertainment into a wrenching session…we’ll see how that goes, but in the meantime, here’s where we sit right now:

Will post a more thorough update tonight or tomorrow, biggest challenge this afternoon was that I can’t find my pulley puller; will have to go buy another mañana if I don’t find it tonight after our guests leave.
