Gen 2 running boards on gen1....?

So I've been really curious if anyone has tried to fit the gen 2 running boards on gen 1 scab...? My steps came with one side really scuffed up and pealing off. I really like the look of newer steps anyways. Thought I'd ask here before buying a set thanks in advance!

Bolt on....... probably not.

But anything will fit anything if the right person is doing it. Brackets can be made. Holes drilled, tabs welded
