The more I ponder this setup and from looking at the shocks side by side I think your losing some bump travel. You’re gaining droop but I wouldn’t feel safe with going beyond the Fox 3.0” droop range which is .5” more than stock. Ford moved the shock mount up which would account for the additional dynamic range.

This is what I plan on trying first once i get ready to do the swap. If that wont work ill just relocate the entire top by adding a section.

Instead of adding length to the top, why not have a spring pack built that pushed the rear axel 1 inch further down, thus lengthening the eye to eye shock length. Basically this is what the Deavers do, but can be done in any spring shop if you know what you are doing.

BTW, jumping mine at the MX track has not produced any of the "these wont work" features that all are saying will happen.

Because the body is too long and the bump stops are in the wrong place. You’ll bottom the shock out at full compression and start ripping things apart.

well I had them on my truck and still do but my beautiful loving wife got me fox 3.0 with dsc for my birthday so.... I have a set of these for the front with gen1 top hats and springs ready to go by mid next week. if interested let me know. in perfect shape.

Has anyone tried to compare the travel between gen 1 and gen 2 shocks mounted with no springs?
It would be a nice thing to know. Might also help size the bump stop correctly.

no one cares about making stuff work properly, they just want to say they did it lol.

I'm surprised no one thought of shimming the internals to shorten the extension instead of strapping the front.
