Awesome, thanks a lot!

I'll give him a couple days and then reach out to see if he can give me that info.

On another note: My motor arrived at my dealer yesterday, but they said they are too busy to work on my truck and won't start install until next week. Kinda frustrating since it has been sitting there waiting on a motor for almost two weeks. Oh well.....

Yep, frustrating... But sounds like a dealership to me. Hopefully it won't take too long to drop the new engine in.

Yep, typical.

I guess I'm just confused as to what take priority over a truck sitting in the first Lift Bay for 2 weeks with no motor. And they are paying for a rental on, haha.

Oh well, I'm just driving it straight to the new dealer anyways.

Hey Guys, got an update on my blown motor repair.

The summary is attached, but here's some notes:

  • Metal was everywhere in my motor
  • Turbos replaced
I arrived to pick up my truck and transferred all my stuff from the rental. Got in my truck and didn't even leave the dealer lot before the check engine came on. Turned around, and after 45 min, they let me know they forgot to replace the knock sensors. Now they are tracking down my old motor to use them since they said Ford asked them to re use those and the new motor didn't come with any.

So then I moved my stuff back from my truck to the rental and will go back this week to pick up my Raptor for hopefully the last time.

This is the stuff I'm worried about long term with the truck now that it has a new motor. All the little electrical stuff that can pop up and keep me in the shop every two weeks.

Anyways, just though I'd update.

Wow, sure sounds like they didn't even test drive it after replacing the engine. That's incredibly poor service.

Once you finally get your truck back, I'd leave that dealer in your rearview.

Well, I should have mentioned, they claimed they drove it a lot. And I can confirm 10 miles based on my Ford Pass App. And when I got in the truck, the light was not on. Then it came on when I was pulling out of the lot.

But still, just not a great experience. The sales guys (who were not great to work with) were all standing there watching the whole back and forth, haha. Still no effort to work with me with a 2019 at all, now I'm not sure I blame them for not wanting this truck, haha.

Also, looks like my dealer will get a black 2019 on the 19th. It's spec'd exactly like my PB Order but with beadlocks. So it's somewhat tempting since my order will most likely be January delivery. :hmm:

Ford has yet to release any Raptors from the plant. While the 19th isn't impossible, I wouldn't hold my breath.

As as the current owner of a black F150, I'd stay away from that color unless you REALLY enjoy cleaning your truck. Color is obviously incredibly subjective, but if your OCD fires like mine does, black is a pain to keep clean. But for the 30 minutes it's clean after a wash, best looking color out there.

Yea, I thought the 19th was early, but that's what Ford Performance chat said. I may go take a look whenever it actually does get there.

I know, black is a huge pain in the butt. And yes, I am also weird about how clean my truck is, but usually just the inside and the other places that most dont care about. I'm not overly concerned about the paint. I've had a few black cars and still have a black 4 runner. It's a give and take, for sure.

With color, I always have a top 3. And then I find the best deal I can of those top 3 colors, and go with that. Because the way I change my mind, I always end up seeing the other two colors and thinking how good they look...no matter what color I get. So I'm keeping that in mind. But at the end of the day, I'm still leaning more towards PB. Especially after seeing some Real life pics in the other thread.

I am right there with you. I moved to a white Raptor from a black 4-runner and miss the black every time I see one.
