The majority of people that will keep those wheels on their truck will also not change anything else. I get it some people still like chrome wheels some people like Silver. Everyone else would have atleast preferred black like the concept showed. I would say their market research sucked and they don’t always put what the customer wants hence the v6 engine....

That's not true! I have stock wheels and I modded my truck with a stubby antenna and LED license plate lights!

But seriously, the stock rims have the exposed metal so they are differentiated cosmetically from the beadlocks. If they kept the all black rims the preproduction Raptors used, the look would be similar and less of a reason for people to upgrade to beadlocks. (99.9% won't won't ever be setup for beadlock, so looks is the #1 reason people upgrade wheels)

I'm in the same boat OP.. I have a 2013 I'm thinking of trading / selling, and looking to buy a 2018.

How do you like the Gen 2? what are your complaints now that you have the new truck? What do you miss about your old raptor?

Really the only thing I miss is the sound of the v8 engine... which isn’t that big of a deal to me... otherwise this is hands down a better truck .... only complaint is the fake engine/exhaust noise is dumb everything else is awesome so far.

Use Forscan and turn it off. Good thread on here with everything you need to know about using it to customize your truck to suit you.

Congrats and welcome aboard! I'm going to assume Ford spent so much time on the design work and suspension work that they forgot about the wheels until the very end. And they asked the new guy in the office to come up with a quick design, not realizing he was the new janitor, not a designer.

Hence, these wheels.
