There has been much debate about bolt in cages, inexpensive harness set ups and “unique” mounting ideas. When I first thought about putting a cage in my truck I looked into a bolt in cage and keeping my stock interior. After a bunch of online research and speaking with people who know a whole lot more about safety than me, I decided to go with a full weld in cage, four point harnesses and racing seats. I think this video can explain it better than I ever could. Especially the last few lines.

I would agree that if you intend on racing then a full cage is the way to go. In my case it was the strong dislike for the stock seat belts when getting after it as they progressively tighten, that led me to my decision. As I have stated before, building out my truck is more of a journey than a destination. I can see a full cage in my future when it is no longer my DD.

After 2013 TRR and nose plant on a double giving my Raptor a slight facelift. A fullcage, harnesses, etc is no longer a want. It is a need!

no interior cage, full or bolt on would have helped with a face plant. When Jarrett had his run in with two posts that totaled his truck (last years TRR), his "Bolt in Cage" and harnesses protected him.
