Back down at Outlaw to help work on my truck. We are trying to think of all the little details that will be nice to have when it's complete. Here is how Marvin mounted the impact. qahy7y5y.jpg
When you open the passenger door, it's right next to the seat.

How do you get it out? And is it secure enough to stay in place off-roading and (i hope you never do it again) a roll over? I remember reading about what you are going to different to make sure everything is secure in the cab. I think you said your sat phone was lodged in the dash and took 30 minutes to get out. That would do some damage if it came loose in the cab.

But i like the creativity.

If I was to guess on how the impact is held in place, I would say there must be a bolt in the cup where the socket is, so by ether thighing or loosening the bolt this will free or bind in place the impact. Hope I'm right if not I give up !

It's not a new concept, I've seen quite a few Trophy Trucks with the same set up around the same door bar area. I personally dont like the idea cause if it does come loose in a bad roll ya better take cover. I'd rather have it in the back seat inside a aluminum storage compartment where if it does come loose the Impact can't get you

There is a bolt in the bottom that the socket fits onto. You use the impact gun to loosen it and the gun comes out. Yes I did take the idea from one of Robby Gordon's Speed TT. Figure if it's good enough for him it should work for me. Once it is in place it does not move and the impact locks when not in use.

I agree with the statement that it's secure, the issue I can see is human error and with that problem you could forget to thighten the bolt to secure the impact although it would be so loose you should notice it, or you could forget to latch the aluminum box in the back of the cab. Ether way its going to hurt (so don't do that)

I would think that the orientation of the impact would put a lot of stress on the nose bearing, motor and the battery mount. If it was mine I would rotate it to have the battery on the bottom. With that said I will shut up since this is turning out to be the the most inovative Raptor build short of a trophy truck. I hope to see it in person some day great job guys.

I was able to finish all the interior wiring. (Except for the stereo) both radios, both nav units and a few other interior components are all wired through the SPOD now.

As you can see in the picture, the visors and rear view mirror are mounted.
Here a few more pics of the sheet metal. I really respect guys who have true old school metal skills.
