I got 12.25 on a tank going from Dallas to Lubbock. Stock truck. Unloaded, cruise on, 93 octane. I’m headed home to Dallas tomorrow and I’m scratching my head thinking somethingisn’t right. That’s some crappy highway mpg.

There is something wrong if you are getting that poor of mileage. Those conditions should net 16mpg.

Where does it say that the owner was going 80? Either way, the mpg is not anywhere close to what the truck should get. So, either the truck has an issue or the owner did not correctly calculate the mpg. Owner said truck was all stock, so assuming factory tire size. If it was a larger tire (diameter), and the computer was not updated, I could see those numbers (which are wrong).
