Today was day 3 of ownership. Getting 12 at the moment. I really don't care if it got 8mpg. This thing is a stud!

I only use 91 octane for all my auto's. Is there any benefit using the good stuff in our raptor?

No, the truck is designed to run on 87 and running anything higher doesn't do anything for it except cost .20 more a gallon. Just run 87 from a well known station.

Actually I think that the book says that you can run the 85 fuel in the Raptor, but i will just stick with the 87.

DJ you are correct the 5.4 is flex fuel so you can run E-85 but your mileage will suffer a bit but performance may pick up a little may not be noticeable fuel will be a little cheaper probably average out either way cost wise compared to running the more expensive regular unleaded which will give you better MPG over E85. The 6.2L appears not to be flex fuel capable.

It's all good i will still be running the 87 in my truck and once in a while run a tank of the hi grade stuff to help clean it all out. Yet another reason I am glad i didn't get the 6.2L Raptor. although that Raptor is a beast and it sounds like fun to drive.

If you want to see what you're actually getting while cruising on the highway, set the cruise control and reset your mileage calculator. It'll jump up there pretty good. Then at least you'll know what you're getting for highway mileage and not just the "average."

I've got just over 11k miles on mine now and the average fuel economy has been 15.4 mpg. Calculated, not by the avg mpg message.
