Gas Can Hauling

I have a few of those red poly 5 gallon gas cans that I currently bungee tie together then hook to the bed tie down. They tend to fall over, especially when empty/low, so I started putting 2 of them into a big plastic storage container (like what you put Christmas decoration into, don't tell the wife) to keep them near the gate and not slide to the back. In the summer I make about 2 trips a week to fill them for all my lawn equipment.

I'm sure there is a more sophisticated way to haul these. What are you guys doing?

Find a junk yard 36gal tank from another Raptor and attach it to the bed. It won't slide anywhere

Go to a motorcycle shop and get some 5-gal containers that have proper lids that screw closed. Put them in the bed and don't drive like an A-hole.

These look great. I had some older adjustable ones and they were crap. Looks like these are higher quality.

Come on guys......bungees??... I do a lot of off road driving on logging roads up here in Northern Maine and always have a couple extra VP gas cans in the back. I bought myself an adjustable load bar that I install across the bed to hold the cans tightly against the tailgate or front of the box. Along with the load bar is an available load separator bar that can be locked in place to push the cans to one side and keep them there. This load bar is awesome and solid. I use it for all sorts of loads and when I don't need it, I just tuck it up front against the front of the box....perfect. This is a bar that I won't go without and would recommend to anyone looking to keep their loads secure.

Also an excellent option if you lawnmower gas gas station requires scaling a summit to get to.

i use VP dump cans and SDHQ makes dump can-specific tie downs that I use to keep them in place. I generally use one strap, with two cans back to back, with the tall sides touching.

Evil MFG makes a spendy dump can holder that is really nice. I just haven't been annoyed with my SDHQ ratchet straps enough to pull the trigger.
