I'm a little late to the party.
Recently installed the Garmin 55 Dash Cam. I am very satisfied with the quality of the video. The cam includes voice activation for several cam functions. It is a very compact size camera, smaller than a GoPro in physical size. The data card is easily removed from the camera bottom, and the cam is easily removed from the windshield with it magnetic mount.
It includes the Garmin Parking Mode Cable which enables the cam to record while the Raptor is parked and key is off. It has adjustable circuitry to turn off the cam if battery voltage drops to a specific threshold, either 11.7, 12.0, 12.3 volts. I currently have it set at 12.0 volts. This optional cable has three wires: Ground, Battery +12, Accessory +12. Therefore 2 Fuse taps are required at the fuse box behind the passenger side kick panel.
Since Ford utilizes Low Profile Mini fuses, fuse taps that are for those Low Profile Mini fuses will not insert all the way in to the fuse slots, as the fuse tap itself is too wide to fit in the narrow channel of fuses in the Ford fuse panel. Therefore, standard Mini Fuse taps are utilized as standard mini fuses have longer tabs.
I tapped into fuse 27 for Battery +12 as that fuse is a spare and not utilized, but the fuse slot is still Battery +12. For the Accessory +12 I tapped into fuse 41 as that is accessory +12 for one of the Upfitter Switches, so is not a critical vehicle fuse.
After completion of the installation, I bundled the excess cable and attached it with a zip tie and zip tie stick-on behind the right side instrument panel end cover for easy access should I need to re-adjust the battery voltage threshold setting at a later date.
