But Ill bow out and let the v8 circle jerk continue even though nobody has given a good explanation why the ecoboost is such a horrible choice of motors. I guess some people think their manhood is in jeopardy with a smaller motor, who knows.

You want a good explanation? Because **** you, that's why.

Not a good enough reason? Well then how about the fact that extreme dust and turbos are only slightly better together than a bag of sugar in your gas tank. During harvest I've got to pull the filter at least once every other day and spend a half hour to an hour cleaning it out just so I'm not overheating the engine rolling 45mph down the local highway, while empty. You can claim that turbos are run in races offroad in dusty dirty conditions all the time and you'd be right, but what you leave out is the fact that these race vehicles are constantly having their engines rebuilt, tuned, and fixed between races. Will a twin turbo give you all kinds of performance out of the gate with plenty of headspace for even more power via cheap aftermarket tuning? Yeah. Will it offer the same long term reliability in extreme conditions as a non-turbo? Not likely.

You don't even own a Raptor, yet come on here claiming your going to buy one and within 8 posts have gone to basically insulting everyone who actually owns one.

"All the Raptors around me in Wyoming are always clean and detailed. Must be a status symbol."

Yes, cause a clean raptor HAS to be a street queen!!!! A true offroader would never clean the mud off from their truck! That's just crazy!

"I'd buy one, but bla bla bla..."

For someone who says they really want one, you have an awful lot of excuses for why you won't buy one.

"but the bent frame. Such a weak point! I'd never buy a used one..."

Says the guy with a busted driveshaft. I can tell you right now that I would never buy a Jeep unless they fix the obviously incredibly week driveshafts. And I certainly wouldn't buy a used one!!!

"V8's are just stupid and you're an idiot if you like one. Also you are obviously gay and like to do gay things and I'm going to continually point that out even though nothing in this entire thread, other than my own comments, has even had the slightest ****** connotation, let alone suggested a specific ****** orrientation."

Can some one please explain why a V8 is better?
Because its american ?

Serieus..its about torque, horsepower, reliabilty an drivabilty
I would take a raptor even if it was just a 4 in line...
As,long as it has the power

Diesel ...ok i am fine with it...as long as it has equal or better

If it is the sound...do what bmw did... play back a recordinf

No one here posted a valid reason... just ifs and feelings... nothing real or founded

Bring on the Eco-beast

And lets not forget...the 6.2 came out the F250
So keep eye on that...the 6.2 is still in there for 2015
So its not gone YET

How about one reason, the 2.7L ecoboost, the 3.5L ecoboost, and the 6.2L N/A V-8 have all competed in the Baja 1000, all with basically the same suspension and chassis, although the 2.7L truck was 700 lbs lighter than the other two, I'll give you one guess as to which one of the three didn't DNF, and not only did it not fail to finish, it even took third in it's class

The 2.7 ( hide) :D

my question was more because its like

"we are american we need american made V8 because it makes our ***** grow....bla bla"

Nothing against the concept of the big ass displacement V8
But if all resulting numbers are same or better... what the F does it matter..

Bit if reliabilty is an issue in the inviroment .. then i completely understand

Hate my europeaan ass all you want...but unfounded opinions are jut a feeling not a fact...
And good marketing will meen that the raptor will stay a big V8
But will take it out of the F250
With atleast a year to go hope they spent time to advance the engine to its next stage

I don't see how you being European has anything to do with it, you guys are the ones with the 7.0L V-12s and the 8.0L W-16s, you're the ones with the real cylinder fetish
